Motorhaven have you forsaken me? If I wait much longer I may actually die! As I sit at my mailbox and patiently wait, I can't help but notice all the Tuned F250's racing by, taunting me, mocking me and my untuned truck. Mebbe I should have drove to GA. and picked it up. What a ride home that would be! Well at least I'm losing weight.
I have a scmt on my 04 psd and love it. Especially at a stop light next to a rice burner!! I just recently put in a set of autometer boost and pyro guages. My boost guage is on the map sensor hose and jumps around at high boost pressure jumps from 28 to 32 psi at WOT. My pyro is installed in the manifold at runs up to 1300 degrees at WOT is this normal boost guage performance and egt Temp.
Thank you for your time
If it wasnt for superchips i wouldnt be looking at new tires with only 20000 miles on my truck thanks Superchips your the greates hahaha
Temp I would say is normal. Unless I run mine for a little bit of distance at WOT I only see about 1200-1250, but I also have 4" exhaust from the turbo all the way out no muff, no cat.
32psi is about normal on the HP tune. What do you mean by the boost jumps around?

Boost is directly related to LOAD.
More load = more boost (but you won't see much more than 32psi).
The needle is bouncing constantly at any psi over 15 by bouncing i mean it is moving up and down very fast, up one psi and down one psi from what i guess is the actual measurement ive heard that moving the boost guage mounting location may help any suggestions
it is hooked into the map sensor lineabout 3 inches from what i think is the map sensor, What ever it is it is bolted down with three bolts and is mounted on top side of the motor on the passenger side, I spliced in with the T sent with the kit.
I installed my boost guage in the elbow coming out of the intercooler. It seems to be pretty smooth there. Also the 6.0 looks erratic compared to any other turbocharged engine on the guage because of the variable turbo. Just the slightest movement on the pedal tell the hyd pressure to go up or down on the vanes. Or should I say this is how I understand it. Seems as if I am always corrected in these forums with some mumbo jumbo jive talk....

The turbo is very responsive to load changes compared to some other turbocharged vehicles.
It is possible that you had a small leak in the "Tee" when it was located by the MAP sensor.

You should notice that boost AFTER the intercooler is slightly lower (a LB or two).
Yes, I wanted the actual boost post intercooler. It is actually installed in the elbow going into the motor int he front of the eng compartment. Was easy to remove, drill and tap..

....just keep the boost drop in mind when comparing boost to others.
Hey Vic, Hate to keep asking the same thing, but my brother-in-law and his boss just picked up 2 05's. They have both driven my truck and keep asking me to get them a SCMT for them. Any updates on release date?
I have Different acceleration patterens. when I get on it from a dead stop it will accelerate very hard. but when I leave the line nice and easy and then get on it when i am cruising around 10mph near the shift point, it will accerelate some what slow, "faster than stock" and the rpms will go up to around 3,500 the motor sounds like its working hard but weak acceleration. This is my first diesel so I'm still getting the feel for what this truck likes, is there a secrete to consitant acceleration.
