We will continue…. talking about flashes as long as the members that have SCMT equipment need that information. I am sorry you have a job that results in listening to owners harp or bad mouth a flash....cannot help you there...

Singularly the flash is the most important part for SC and their tuner…in respect to the product working!
End of discussion.

It would be so nice if the SCMT was able to download the copy of the new flash to a user's local computer and then have them email it to SC or upload it on their web site and receive the subsequent download via the Internet and update the SCMT that way.

Seems like it would save SC some work and expense too.

I know that this is a common theme and am not harping . . . just dreaming, it's in my wish list with whirled peas and all that . . .

I am not harping either, but I agree wholeheartedly that this strategy would not only make everyone's lives easier (no more need to pack up and pay to ship a perfectly good SCMT), but save Vic's company lots of money in return shipping and man-hours unpackaging and repackaging every returned unit...

I have no doubt that this fact has not gone unnoticed by your development team, Vic!

Steve

ps. It would also be nice if the unit allowed for code reading, so that any potential problems could be understood by the customer before taking it back to Ford for service! ...more dreaming!!

The 1704 reads DTCs and allows you to clear them as well. What that what you were refering to?

I'm a little confused now. Where do I put the Whirled Peas and how does this help my truck?
You'll notice I didn't mention the reflash.
Oops!

Yes, Daryl it was ... thanks for the clarification! I haven't actually gotten my hands on a SCMT because my X is an '05, but I'm anxiously awaiting Vic's go ahead to order the new version!

Vic, I didn't want to try to hijack this thread with SCT discussion so I started another one SCT vs. SCMT and I was wondering if you would be willing to chime in?

POOR results with SCMT 1704

Okay guys I need some help here! I ordered the SCMT and it arrived yesterday. This afternoon I plugged it in, ran through all of the sequences without any problems and selected the Economy mode and installed the programming. I jumped in the Ex., and with the anticipation of a young school boy on Christmas Eve I prepared to get my socks knocked off. Well, I must say that I am thoroughly dissappointed. Something must be wrong. I could feel the new firmness in the shifts and the higher revs, but the acceleration was no better than stock. Have I done something wrong?? Is there a break-in period??? My neighbor and friend, with the exact same model and year vehicle as mine, just recently installed the Diablo with the 65hp program in his Ex. and when I drove it I couldn't believe the difference. The acceleration was insane compared to stock. I thought to myself, well heck, if the 65hp program in the Diablo is that impressive, then imagine what the 120hp, much less the 150hp, program of the SCMT would do. Fellas, I am bummed!! The only thing I haven't tried is the Tow Mode, which I will do in the morning. I purchased my vehicle in 11/03 and currently have about 17k miles. Were my expectations too high or do I have a problem? Maybe the programming didn't take?? From everything that I have read on this board I was expecting performance nothing less than spectacular, but I have to say that I am ready to swap the SCMT for the Diablo if this is as good as it gets. Thanks for your time!!!

Something is wrong.... My 03` f350 will absolutely scare you... Stand on it from a dead stop and it will turn the 33x12.5 mt`s till about 40 mph... I would try unloading back to stock and reinstall. Did you try hp mode?

Install the HP mode. Econ is not very impressive. You will not feel much of a difference till the last 1/4 of throttle travel. In HP mode you should feel a huge difference.
