Snow....How ironic.
I just got back from a 7-mile "extreme" (quote: Harold and Kumar go to White Castle) bike ride at Snow Hill....but snow hill is in sunny Florida and probably hasn't seen snow since 1977
The weather will not in any way affect the program...
Except if it snows then you can not stand on the throttle…
Call MotorHaven...or order it online....from them
Well, it won't "affect" the program but it does affect the program (any progam for that matter)
Much of how the engine calculates how much fuel to use is through engine oil temperature. Ever notice they don't REALLY move until they are at operating temp?
IAT affects injector timing, ECT affects shift pressure, etc...
recently I have been experiecing weak shifts. I only feel the hard shifts "which I like" at WOT. My third gear shift is extremely weak and slow, whats my problem.

Most people prefer hard shifts at and near WOT, but a softer (not "weak") shift at part throttle. It's still more firm than stock at part throttle, just not excessively firm.
This is what most people prefer, so it's how I made it.
It was initially much more firm at part throttle, but was softened due to popular demand.
At WOT, the tires will regularly break loose at the shift on most trucks.
Yes, my tires do break loose on the first few shift at WOT, I love it, it hurts my broken leg :-) softer shifts at part throttle is understandable, but I hear some of you guys complain about the shifts being way to hard on HP mode even at part throttle, not the case with my truck, I wouldnt mind full time hard shifts, I dont have to hear complaints from a wife, besides this is a MANS truck the wife should understand!
The hard part-throttle shifts were removed at the request of nearly everyone.
This is what the vast majority prefers.
Full-time hard shifts may feel best to you, but really doesn't do anythying for performance at light throttle and actually annoys most people.
The shifts get progressively more firm with more throttle, and this is a major aspect of the programmers drivability.
While I too would prefer hard shifts all the time, the way the newest 1704 calibration is set up, is great. The SCT I am presently running and the 1704's shifting feel just nearly identical. The only aspect of the SCT program I am running right now that feels a little funny is the torque converter lockup scheduling- I think I prefer the 1704's scheduling better.
Vic, are there any plans to release a more powerful HP tune for the 1704 in the future?
BTW, Vic, would you mind if I shot a couple tuning questions to your email? I will have a RacerPro package as of this week, and just had a few specific questions that you might be able to answer...
This brings up a related question. At some point in the not too distant future I'll bring my truck in for service at the 30,000 mile mark and have the tranny service done and so on. I'll also see if the latest flash for the '03 is also for CA models. If so, I'll have them flash the truck.
Then most likely I'll need to have my tuner sent back to have the program updated for the new flash version.
When this is done will it have the newer softer part throttle shifts or will the shifts still be the same as before?
I don't mind (and kind of like) the firm shifts but like MX Racer I sometimes hear my wife fuss a bit.
