Ok, I can see some have the issue.

Please, no more posts on this subject.
I will find a solution and post when there is one.

For anyone who feels they want it addressed, call superchips for an RA.

I'll happily wait to hear from you, but if you need my 1704 to help diagnose the problem feel free to let me know and I'll attempt to let somebody rip it out of my tightly clenched grip

Look forward to the resolution when it comes!

Thanks Vic,
Steve

Have not got my 1704 back from superchips yet, but I was woundering is it safe to run the truck ih HP mode in the cold weather, 20 - 30f. My truck has not been running to clean in this crap weather. Also is it OK to drive long distances in HP mode cruising around 80 - 85mph. or is there a better setting for the long hall.

No problem in any case you stated...as long as the truck is up to operating temp before you hammer it......

ALso, make sure you don't have water in the fuel.

I had a SC in my 04 F3 and loved the performance. If there was anything that could have been better it was the cruse control. When ingaged and the brake was depressed the engine just cut out like you turned it off. It wasn't a smooth disengage like the stock file. It's a jolt to the drive train when loaded and comming off a freeway.

Question two. My 04 was wrecked (rearended) and is gone (6 months old).
I was able to get the stock file back in. An 05 should be here around X-mas. What do I need to do to get the SC to work with the 05?

Thanks in advance.

There was a TSB (Ford) on the cruise control issues.

As for the 05.....hang in there. Work is in process.

Dunno what the policy will be for your existing tuner, but you may be able to pay to have it updated for 05, rather than have to buy a new tuner for an05...not my dept =o)

Call customer service if you have questions.

There is a cost involved in updating hardware/software/firmware to make a tuner work on a vehcile other than what it was originally released for. The 05 has different files sizes than 03-04.

Vic, this was posted 12-15-04.
Please note, I'm not trying to be sarcastic,
just trying to help make a good product better.

Notice I didn't ask when the 05 tuner was coming out again???
You have taught me patients.

I have a question regarding towing and the HP mode. I know that SCMT states 4,000lbs in HP tune I believe.

My question is it alright to tow more in HP as long as your boost and EGT stays within range?

I grossed 20,080lbs. in HP mode and at 75mph it never went above 1100 and saw max boost around 30-33. It would get hotter if I floored it from a dead stop and would see more boost but, do to driveline vibration I only acclerate from a stop at about half throttle.

Most hills I saw saw about 30psi and 850 EGT.

You have taught me patients.

So what exactly are you saying here?

You stated a while back you had cruise control issues.
I had never experienced any first hand.
There are (in fact) TSB's for cruise control, so I told you to look into that first.

Are you prying deep to try and find a contradiction to discount what I'm saying?
I've only seen the particular issue you were talking about as of recent.
Ford had a lot of control issues themselves with cruise control, and most of these could be fixed at the dealer.

I need to refresh something here:

This is a place where I post in my spare time for discussion and I'll answer some questions so long as they are not redundant.
If you have an issue that has been addressed, call your vendor or call superchips.

I post here because it is enjoyable...

It seems as time goes by, this becomes more and more like tech support than it is a place for conversation and some general questions.
When answers are demanded, it is no longer a discussion forum...so take it easy on me, eh?

on a good note:
the 05 is coming soon =o)

I'm exactly saying I asked about the cruise disengage hump two months ago.

Nothing more.

I speak for several, you are an asset and we appreciate your time.
I am only trying to help you make a good product better...

Funny, today I was on the freeway with some Nascar wannabes and thought
"can't wait". Like I've said before, once you've had a taste, anything stock is a yawn.

Thanks Vic
