Superchips 6.0 Microtuner Thread
...
Chris from SCT and I shared feedback and it worked out well.
We've all spent a lot of time refining our individual programs since then.
The only aspect of the SCT program I am running right now that feels a little funny is the torque converter lockup scheduling- I think I prefer the 1704's scheduling better.
...
Vic, are there any plans to release a more powerful HP tune for the 1704 in the future?
...
I can't say...
On a stock (or near stock) truck, I like it safe how it is =o)
BTW, Vic, would you mind if I shot a couple tuning questions to your email? I will have a RacerPro package as of this week, and just had a few specific questions that you might be able to answer...
Then most likely I'll need to have my tuner sent back to have the program updated for the new flash version.
When this is done will it have the newer softer part throttle shifts or will the shifts still be the same as before?
I don't mind (and kind of like) the firm shifts but like MX Racer I sometimes hear my wife fuss a bit.
I love the way it shifts at WOT, I would not want that to change at all.

Only light throttle would change.
Only get an RA if you think the light throttle shifting is too firm...that is the only change...
Honestly, I had it in trucks with less than 100 miles on them.
As long as you follow the proper break-in prcedure, it doesn't matter if it's tuned or not...
Just wanted to share an entirely new sales point in the SCMT's favor!
We all know that the product kicks butt!
We all know that it's guaranteed to produce miles of smiles!!
We all know that the fun factor of our trucks increases dramatically!!!
...and some of us know that the fuel mileage goes up too,
BUT
I just discovered a new and very practical use for the SCMT.
First a quick background ... I live in a part of the country (suburban Chicago area) that has a big "Canada Geese" problem ... the geese have discovered that they don't have to migrate south, because despite the cold and snow living is good around here ... so we suffer an overpopulation of irritating and VERY messy geese. Not only do they have little fear of people, but they pretty much ignore cars and trucks, even when they're right in the path of a moving vehicle -- stuuupid!!
Here's where the SCMT comes in very handy!
Two days ago I needed to "encourage" a small flock to vacate my property ... when they ignored the big loud diesel coming up the driveway I tried a new tactic.
I backed the truck up so that the flock was to my right, put it in neutral, and stomped on the accelerator a few times (in HP tune).
Well, what do you know? Geese are still deathly afraid of the big black plume of smoke that was advancing toward them!!!!!!!!!!! They took flight and I haven't seen them since -- Hahahahahahahaha!!
One of my neighbors was driving by when I did this ... you should have seen the look of glee on her face!!
Anyway, Vic, add "effective goose deterrent" to the long list of wonderful reasons to own a SCMT!!

Of course, you gotta be in PERF mode for the smoke.
If I end up with geese in my Florida backyard I'm coming after you!
I'll have to use tire smoke, or take an R&D diesel home and throw a very very special "cropduster" file in it =o)
If you only knew how much smoke they can *really* make if you force them to =o)

I'm guessing you have one just for that? Lol

You Florida folk should be used to the migrating birds already ... that's where they belong this time of year!!
Enjoy!

I haven't flown in many years, but I'm rated on Piper Warriors and Archers -- haven't taken the time to jump out of a perfectly good one ... yet!
