Here's my problem. Ford is prioritizing new production over existing sales. Someone in Ford has made this decision. Typically, you may have two weeks to a month of parts ready at the factory. Simple math means that they have 15K to 30K parts in Kentucky, but won't allocate those to dealers to service existing customers.
January 2024: Ford produced 31K Super Dutys in Kentucky and 2.2K in Ohio.
February 2024: Pretty much the same. Total Super Duty production was 33K trucks.
Numbers were from Ford Authority Website.
Ford could resolve this within a few weeks if they would just release the parts...

No mass production manufacturer will prioritize warranty repair over allocated production parts kit. It's cheaper(in the short term) to make existing customers wait than holding up new vehicles that need to go to dealers to get the credit for sales on the quarterly sales sheet. Pulling parts from their assigned VIN requires a re-calibration of the parts supply assignment and production schedule.

I'm travelling, so I'm nowhere near the selling dealer, and I'm flying to Europe on Saturday for quite a while, so I'll just have to leave it at the local dealer until it's fixed! What a PITA!!
Temperature today in Oregon was up to 100°F and had to drive in it for 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!!

Having worked in supplying parts to the auto industry for years, I have never saw a factory in the U.S. with a 2 week to month supply of parts. The majority were 24 hours ahead if that much. We shipped 4 to 5 or more trucks a day to a plant. When a truck would leave, we would receive the order for what needed to be built for the 4th or 5th truck. At Ford, the trailers are bought in from the yard and unloaded and taken straight to the factory floor. We had Ford do surprise visits to see if we had built inventory ahead and were fined if we had.
The only plant we shipped to that had inventory was the Saltillo, Mexico Ram plant. They did this as trucks would be stolen on the way through Mexico.
As a supplier you are staffed to meet the daily demand from Ford. It is not as easy as saying we need to make a few hundred extra parts today. The companies who supply you are set up the same way. As we found out during Covid, one hiccup in the supply chain shuts every one down.
you sound like me, just run it as is. Much easier to do. Then let it sit and ruin your day.
Glad to hear you are not trying to sue to make money on it.
I'm not here to sue, just bitching. But there is no way my wife and kids are jumping in the truck on a 100+ degree day to pull our fifth wheel for 8 hours with the windows down. I'm still using mine around town with the windows down and the AC off (it's my daily driver, though I've been driving my wife's old car on the hottest days), but one of its main jobs is to tow our trailer, and that just isn't going to happen in the south in the summer until they fix the damned thing.
I agree, its 100+ daily in Texas right now ... I have one vehicle, and it's sitting at a Ford dealer with a dead AC compressor and no ETA for repair. I now can't take my travel trailer on the two vacations planned next week and in 4 weeks unless I pony up and rent a truck that can haul 11K lbs. It would be cheaper for me to buy a wrecked take off and have it put on than rent a truck for 5 weeks plus.

Same here...though I probably will sue for some compensation. Just turning it over to atty and letting them handle it. They get their cut from the settlement. No real effort on my part.
My hope is to get enough compensation to offset the hit I'll take in trade. That way I can get out of this truck and into a replacement without losing my shirt. Just need to get it all handled before my fall RV trips. Summer trips are cancelled at this point.
I've been waiting since April 29, talking to Ford Customer Service and the dealership. I'm thoroughly disgusted. I've never seen anything like this in my 56 years. No one has a straight, consistent answer, or explanation. Makes me wish I'd bought a 99-02 Powerstroke and rebuilt it, inside and out. I'd be in it for less and they go forever.
Add me to the list...
2024 F250 XLT 7.3L
Built 4/24
Failure on 6/22/24 at 1,200 miles
The dealer is submitting a quote to replace the ENTIRE A/C system. Compressor, Evaporator, Expansion Valve, Condenser and all lines. Seems overkill but I hope this means I won't have any problems going forward. They better put it back together just like it rolled off the factory floor...
