The excessive use of plastic parts in these trucks is distressing. And the other manufacturers are just as bad if not worse. I have been a life long Ford guy the thought of driving an ugly Tundra or Tacoma turns my stomach.

This really makes me serious about trying to find a 1999 old body style crew cab, putting a cummins 12 valve in it, with a good MANUAL TRASMISSION, doing a restore, and that is actually the type of truck I really want. But they are making these any more.
For all of these, there are thousands without issue. Clearly a bad batch of compressors. Get one, it's literally my favorite super duty ever.

Considering there are thousands of compressors on back order, I’d say there are thousands with issues and thousands without. Fixed it for you.

Ford parts customer service told me they were receiving 150 per week and there was 250 in the transportation process.

Update

So my actual build date is 4/24

Maybe this will help figure out if all compressors are the same.
I did give dealer a print off of spreadsheet and requested that they also order a compressor. Called Ford and created a case with COPIS and emergency tickets. Currently waiting. Dealership did provide a loaner.

I think it says 24W15. I crawled under the truck at dealer and took that pic while holding harness back. Maybe 1/5/24?

More like 24W15 is Week 15 of 2024. Which would be around 2nd week of April 2024.

Friday:
Shop foreman has test driven the vehicle a few times and is still finding intermittent issues... he doesn't have a fix yet but I will keep checking with him. Have a good weekend.

Monday:
The shop foreman has opened a ticket with Ford in order to get "next steps". Ford will give the technician recommended steps to try and/ or parts to replace under the warranty and they will go back and forth until they are able to resolve the issue or until Ford tells us to stop. That's where we are right now... so each time Ford gives the tech something to try, he tries it, and then reports back, then waits for their next reply, etc. Just FYI. I'll let you know if they come up with anything helpful. Have a great day!

Unlike most everyone else, I’ve still gotten no actual diagnosis and seem to be getting slow rolled.

Time to move on.

I’ve contacted Ford to try for a quick Lemon law resolution. Awaiting their decision. If they refuse, I’ll move forward with my normal LL attorney who’s never let me down. Either way, this thing is getting LL’d. been in the shop 30 days now. I’ve met the cumulative days threshold.

I’m no longer interested in a fix but will post If they do resolve it.

So very un-impressive. One would think that for the exhorbitant prices on these trucks, they could at least be reliable and trouble-free. I sent several dealers a list of issues with these trucks and asked them to reply with feedback on these items, so far not one has bothered to get back with me.

I don't think they like educated consumers challenging them on product quality. LOL Well if I am going to cough up $80k to $100k for a truck, it better not present me with the issues many on here are having.

In my day, you rolled down the window and turned the vents wide open…….
Seriously, this is an awful way to handle the situation. I feel terrible for anyone who is waiting for this debacle to end. Another case of owner beta testing.
