It's super easy, it plugs into the back of your ODBII port, the one right below your steering wheel at the bottom of the dash panel, just peek under the dash and you'll see it. You unplug the plug that goes into the back of that port and plug your new harness in there. You should've gotten directions with your kit.
Ok gotcha. But I only purchased the rmu module since mines already had the factory alarm. So this should still work correct. They also sent the sim card.

No, the "factory" alarm and the "perimeter plus" security are two completely different things. No truck comes from the factory with the perimeter plus security module, so you must also purchase that.
Does the truck display that the "perimeter plus" alarm is active in the display when you turn off the truck or is that the standard factory alarm?
thats a DIFFERENT perimeter alarm.
the factory alarm includes 4 sensors in the roof (just to the rear of the roof console/cluster)...the interior sensors detect interior movement when the alarm is set.
the PERIMETER PLUS (add-on) is an adjustable 2 stage SHOCK (think bump or window break) sensor.
Got it hooked up and Banner sent me the PIN quickly. When I go to setup my subscription at Telematics, I get an error. Anyone else have an issue?
Banner should have performed some conformational/testing before they gave you the PIN - they honked the horn and locked/unlocked my truck and then gave me the pin (over the phone).
You don't need print instructions. It's really easy:
Behind the DLC (OBDII port), unplug the connector (make sure the key is NOT in the ignition when you do this).
Plug in the harness that comes with the security module into that DLC connector and click in the new connector. Plug the security module into the harness.
Now plug in the remote access module into the security module.
Zip tie everything up under the dash. I usually put the security module on the large wiring harness under there.
Congrats, the module is now learned to the vehicle.
At this point the dealer will need to activate the remote access and generate the PIN.
"Turn the ignition on for about 3 seconds and then off."
Ordered from Banner on Monday, delivered today. Just installed. Took about an hour of fine tuning. I could do it over again start to finish in 5 minutes now that I know what to do. I took pictures to hopefully help you guys.
Dont zip tie it all up until you test the sensitivity of the alarm...i had it all nice then couldn't access the sensitivity ****.
1. Unplug from back of obd ii
2. Plug in the t harness to the obd ii and the plug that goes into it.
3. Plug into the perimeter alarm box.
4. Plug in the remote cell box
5. Turn off and on and off to learn.
6. Test sensitivity by using fist. I have mine turned all the way up.
7. Set off alarm a few times to admire your work.
8. Zip tie units up out of the way of anything moving. I tied it above the obd in the little cubby there. Seemed to work nicely and is out if the way.
