Remote Access and additional Vehicle security kit!

For anyone that wants the addition "start, stop, locate, lock, unlock all from your iPhone" and get text and emailed when your SD is being broken into or just bumped have the remote access kit and additional vehicle security kit installed. I have had it on my truck for a couple months and have caught some guys in the parking lot of Home Depot, while I was inside, trying to steal stuff out of the bed of my truck. I was sent a text and immediately walked outside and there they were. *** beating time. I've put a Retrax powerttax MX pro on now, but it's still nice to know that I have the additional equipment keeping my truck and my belongings inside safe. Without this added security, someone can bust a window and the alarm will not sound. Which is ridiculous, but true. All the '18's will have Ford Pass, which is the free, phone application. If you have a '17, go get these two items installed, you can thank me later!

Would that be the 'Ford Perimeter Plus' ??

And did you need that bi-directional antenna kit?

It's too bad we couldn't just order this from the factory. Did you just request this from the dealer??

You have to purchase the 3 kits, one being the remote access and 2 being the VSS (perimeter plus), 3 being the bi- directional antenna (only depending on what equipment your truck has. If you have the ultimate lariat package you do not need the bi directional antenna, almost positive). Everything is plug and play for the most part with the exception of the installation of the remote access device which corresponds with the VSS and has to be programmed to the CPU of the vehicle. It laymans term, you need the dealer to install because you just don't have the equipment. Or maybe you do! It works off a GSM card inserted and programmed to the application on your phone.

I did receive insurance discounts for showing them the invoice and I purchased everything on ford accessories website, you pick the dealer that fits your need and the cost for the equipment and install is right there on the site. You can either have your dealer if they are not apart of fords accessories website match the price or you just pay for everything online and the dealer will call you to set up a install date.

Something to consider is the shock sensor at least in my truck was installed where the brake petals re and if it's plus and play. It will also be unplug and gone!

I think these system is flawed in that fashion but I am sure it's not the only car system that can be by passed easily.

That may be so, but if the horn is blaring, you've been notified via text message, whomever is trespassing should have enough anxiety to just leave in a hurry. Once the security system signals the horn, cutting the VSS will not stop it. It's programmed to horn for 20 seconds before stoping only to start again. I turned my sensitivity up all the way and can stand on the outside of the vehicle and flick the window and it will honk once to warn. Flick again, starts to blare. Make sure your sensor is zip tied to the metal up underneath the dash and you will have much greater security.

A Canadian is someone who knows how to make love in a canoe, just like the American, but without a gun!
