I see in the instructions is says to mount the RMST led so it can be seen from the drivers window. I mounted everything under the dash. Did anyone actually mount there within view?

I ran the LED wires up the A-Pillar and across headliner / header of the windshield.
I mount/hang the LED out the top of the headliner (near the rearview mirror) so that it can be seen from almost anywhere - MORE IMPORTANTLY this way the LED is visible even when I have my precision kit window/sunshades
I don't particularly want anyone walking up and looking in - just to see the Alarm LED.
The LED is bright enough that it can be seen (especially at night) from a distance w/out walking up to the truck and looking in a window.

I thought the LED was the amber light on top of the rmst? sounds like you have an LED attached to the end of a wire?

The VSS module has additional plugs along the side, one of them accepts an external LED light that can be mounted as a visual theft deterrent when the alarm is armed.
Anyone tapped into the hood monitoring input to run another pin switch?
I'm thinking I can run a pair of wires from hood input to a tool box. I just need to figure out if I need NO or NC switch...
The Ford part is not very bright at all.
I have a "super bright" part from Directed (Clifford) on order.
We'll see...
I used a significantly brighter LED and its not really an improvement over the factory option one....the pulse is rather short and the delay between pulses (on) that a brighter LED seem ineffective....Im not necessarily please with it, but I havent figured out what to do, yet.
For now I've also added a Thinkware 770 dash cam that has several LED's on it that flash in one of a couple patterns...hopefully the combination will keep them away (but I wouldn't count on it).
Just to confirm cause my dealer is saying the contrary, this is compatible with the sync 3, no touch screen? I'm interested in just the remote functions, not the security. Thanks

Vehicle Security, Remote Start, and Remote Access all have nothing to do with Sync whatsoever. Meaning it doesn't matter which Sync system you have, all security and remote start functions will be identical and operate the same.
Is the dealer saying that it won't work with certain Sync versions? If so, they are giving you wrong information.

100% agree with this. I have both and there is no interaction between the two.

sorry if this has been answered in the thread already but do these vehicles have basic security from factory? in other words if I simply lock my doors, will the horn beep if it is broken into? if not does this kit provide any of that?
