This was the EX about 5yrs ago after the claybar., two rounds of polishing, and two coats of wax. I even did the glass. Truck was better than new. It needs to be done again...bad.
that looks great. looks like you could dive into that paint..
Thanks John, it didn't take me but a week with this jacked up back...lol.
yea, every year the "back issues" get worse. Wake up every day and think..hmm..thats a new pain and all i did was drink beer and stare at my truck yesterday, wth!! lol
Well tore into the axle this afternoon and found that it's going to cost me more than I was expecting.
Looks like I need 2 new axle wheel joints only 1 is bad but I'm not going to replace only one. Atleast the driver side brake caliper, a set of brake pads, and it could probably use new wheel bearings. I quit before popping the carrier and ring gear out to see how bad the ring gear and pinion is. I was hoping all I'd need was the new spiders and gear oil.... guess I'll make a trip to the parts store tomorrow and pick stuff up.

Here is what the brake pads looked like...
Wait that's not a brake pad, it's too smooth, straight and its rust free. You should repurpose that to someone to out in their restore. Rust free straight metal is hard to come by for these trucks..lol I kid.. you Rd for your monies worth out of those bad boys.
I was trying to think back to how long it's been since I put those pads on. Best I could come up with was maybe 4-5 years. Keep in mine it may have seen 500 miles in that time. Needless to say mud eats brake pads up, it's like sand paper.
Well it's seemed like I've been kicking *** and taking names, but it's been a slow process. Beating axle shaft joints out with no one to assist, and no bench vice was fun. I got those done and back in, rotors back on and hubs re assembled. All I've got to get to now is putting brake calipers back on, but gotta run get a new passengers side one since it is froze up too.
