Started on the steering gear box for the jeep last night. However had to take a beer break with Bob, since I don't have a pitman arm puller. I'll get back to it this weekend.
Bob, ignore the box of cotter pins in the back of the shot... I wouldn't really replace missing cotter pins.

Dang. Looks like my excursion front end. Glad you got it fixed.
Can anyone help me with some mild welding? I'll pay for supplies and time. I need to weld a few pieces of 14ga 1" square tube together. Real simple stuff. No long beads. No miter joints. I'll have all the material. I just don't have a welder.
I have the plans and parts list if that helps. I'm thinking it shouldnt take very long to do the welding. I need to drill some holes and other odds and ends but can handle that portion.

Thanks.
I can help you out but I have to warn you that I'm not a pro, I can't make those pretty beads like you see all the fancy TV stars doing

Doesn't need to be pretty. Just needs to be square and hold.
It's 1" square, hollow tube and 1" angle. Need a couple of squares formed with tube and butt welded together with a support on each side. Should be pretty simple. I just don't have any equipment or skills. I figure I can grind any ugly off. The whole thing will be painted. And most of it will be covered in wood. So it won't show much.
Be glad to buy welding materials and pay in beer or food and help.

I can do it for you, you want to bring it by me or do I need to come by you?
Mine is also flux core, with the same issue. I won't do structural or welds that people will see with it. Ive been trying to get my hands on a shielding gas setup for a while now.
Thanks John. When I get the materials together I'll send you a message and we can work out details. WP also said he could help out if other stuff falls through. Appreciate yall helping out. I'll be in touch and make it as easy on yall as possible.
I've been wanting to get that tube grill off of Ka'Bluey since I've gotten him back. So since I've been snagging parts as I could find them, and finally a pretty day outside with no rain I got busy.
Got the tube grill out, and straightened up the grill shell that somebody bent the heck out of, Grabbed a scuff pad, and set in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch and went at scuffing the plastic so the new paint would stick.
A couple/few later and I have the stock stuff back in.
