Gary, I try to put my notes in 3-ring binders so they are not loose all over the place and then I forget which binder or behind which divider tab the info resides. Organization without memory doesn't work either. I have just 4 years of notes for my Ford and have done less than one percent of what you have done. Sorry for my thread hijack, but I thought a little levity might feel good.
I'm all about some levity this time of year. Another damp, dreary winter. About half of the contacts I have here in construction, whether homeowners or tradesmen appear to be in Mexico. I went there once. When I was 13 we visited a relative stationed in El Paso, so we walked over the bridge to Juarez for an hour. I wasn't that impressed, so I tend to stay here in the US. Now that's a real hijack!
been a while ,i was busy. done alot of small stuff, installed radiator and add coolant. right side water pump leaked like a basket. took awhile to get one, didn,t refill yet. had to do some modification on oïl filler because of the alternator. now its to close to the coolant pipe. i made a dent in the upper coolant pipe,i will see how that works out. next wenesday evening a Buddy coming to help me try and install Windows.
thanks! i feel i,m getting closer, next saturday i got a big afternoon planned. i hope i can get it to start and run. still got the pto, its sent to a shop to fit seals. i wanted to get drive shaft retubed because of the Wheel base change. i think thats gonna wait. i really would like to have all my brakes figured out, i,m waiting on news on my brake booster still ! orilleys got a model i believe would work. but they don,t ship to canada. anybody from the north east willing to be used as a shipping address . you can pm me or answer here and we can try to make an arrangement.
got alot of small steps done. strange how you leave out some stuff for later, thinking its going to be easy and quick. i had scratched the upper cowl area when i test fitted the Hood a few times. should of used masking tape! i will this time around. got that repaired, got my pto installed, what oïl should i put in the transmission. maybe 140w ! installed my driveshaft to know what length it needs to be. then removed it i got one good joint out of 3,anybody know the part number for the joints!
thanks joe! i will ,but probably next winter. i will figure out a way to get one. what kind of oïl did you use in your transmission !
Can't remember off the top of my head what I used in the tranny. I'll check and report back on that. Do you need someone to deliver a booster to the border? I'm not too far from
Buffalo but I think, if memory serves, you are more Northeast from there.
thanks on your offer joe. my time is almost over for this year. i will try and finish what i,ve started. maybe i could make a small trip to maine this summer! if it dosn,t work out maybe we could arrange something.
got a lot of little stuff done . installed gauges and wiring with the runtz voltage reducer. got speedometer cable in missing the grommet, got the cab and battery wiring completed. seemed sealed the helper side door.and installed handles. last wednesday got some buddies help install Windows, ended up being quit a task! i hope water will not be pouring in the cab. if anybody replaces the window cranks, make sure to test fit the handles. the pin holes don,t even line up. would of been easyer before they were assembled.
Woohoo! That engine sounds great. Now you have me wondering if I should replace my genny with an alternator. This would eliminate the voltage regulator - correct? When I get the dump body on I plan to install marker lights ( I like lots of lights) on the corners and across the back. I think the genny will be hard pressed to provide enough power. The handles with the hole alignment problems are aftermarket pieces ??
