i didn,t seal the seam from the outside, i did use some seam sealer inside so water would not seep in. i did alot of little mistakes, that i would change ! john the guy who answerd your question is a very knowledgeable guy . he,s got 2 real nice trucks and is working on a third one , it would probably be better to seal it. but my trucks going to be kept inside, and only used occasionally. keep on your great work nils!!! i had promis my wife some house renovations , so thats keeping me busy,i hope to get back to my truck in march. i started it yesterday to have access to the rear of my garage , it was -10 C it started great, wanted to take a picture outside in the snow ,but i forgot.
Thanks. I did some welding and leading in the seam due to some rust...but i dont trust the seam not leaking, i did fill epoxyprimer in a syringe and fill up the seam, but i think i would go for the 3M sealant before filler and spraying epoxyprimer.
the corona virus , had me off for 3 weeks. started with household chores. then last monday i had enought honey to do list done. i decided i would work on my truck, thinking i was off until may. so sunday i bring truck in the shop, with alot of time ahead of me . started by replacing the crank shaft pulley ,i new it was wore when i disassembled the motor. my engine rebuilter had said he would see to it. keep in mind he had engine for almost a year. it was leaking alot and i kinda thought he didn,t see to it. so i found a good used one and replaced it , i hope it will be better. i then installed my transmission floor cover and rubber carpet and jute pad. lower door rubber seals. i sandblasted bumper braquets and painted them black. installed the bumper as is for now, its a better one i had found in montreal a few years ago. then we get a call that we can open shop wenesday . so that will be it for a while phone been ringing alot after 3 weeks closed.
thanks john ! i was hoping to install grill bars ,and clean and paint my front wheels to install my new tires. then i would be almost good for inspection, and maybe be able to drive it this summer !!! a temporary flat bed would be installed.
hi joe ! i got plans already to many plans , i started last summer , i removed my firewood shed . to make room for a third door on my garage. it will be like my truck a slow process.
well its not much but i got my front tires on ! i will need to do some touchups on the wheels, sledge hammers and paint don,t work well together. if i can get my act together i might be able to get my inspection done this month. all i need is rear fenders ! time goes fast i can,t beleive summer over !! took it for a little trip in the field this afternoon ,now that the hay is cut .
thanks ! i drove around in the field a bit trying out my shifting skills. i can now confirm i got my ruckstell backwards !! it shifts kinda smooth, but the fields too bumpy to get to high gear .
