South Bend would be the best option.

Yes on the round piece. Did you install new pilot bearing in fly wheel ?

Yes,,, actually the south bend came with a new flywheel. And throw out bearing, clutch plate, and pressure plate. It's all new. We're loaded up now bout to fire it up n head out. We will c how it does. I hope it will clear up. I'd like to make a couple dollars before pullin the trans---- again.

This I'm no help with. Mine makes kinda a squeal when talking off from a stop, but I think its from spinning it a few times. I'd say go through the break in period and then see.

The pilot bushing goes on the very end of the trans shaft, and seats inside the flywheel. Maybe Crash16 can tell you what it looks like, or if it does not use one.

The only thing in that kit that slides over the trans shaft is the throw out bearing in the clutch fork.

Anthony, was your clutch plate marked "this side towards flywheel" anywhere on it? I'm just asking because mine wasn't and had to call about it.

Yeah it was marked. I think the ceramic buttons went away from the engine. I'd have to look at pics. The noise concerns me, but it also doesn't engage smooth. Gives a couple hops from a start. I've got 600 miles on it now. Bout another 70 miles n I'm gonna change the oil. Then a itty bitty 18' travel trailer goin to San Diego.

I'm hoping I didn't mess it up,,, I have a bad habit for breaking in the clutch, but a great habit for making one last. Here it is,,,, anytime I shift, I don't push the clutch to take it out if gear. I always push it in to put it in the next gear,, but I have to think about pushing in the clutch before taking it out of gear. If its hit right, as soon as the throttle is let off, it will come outta gear smooth. I look at it that I'm not wearing the clutch to release the tension. Just to put it in gear.

I really like the halo lights,,, I tried to take pics last night, but the light wasn't right. They are definitely different.

Funney you say that anthony about the clutch and Not using it to get out a Gear

When you get really good you will only need it to start the yruck from a Stop

I drove alot of vehicles and only used the clutch to start out from stop

You can pull it out and put it in with no clutch you just have to be at right speed

The little cars work the best

clutch

It pretty hard to mess up a clutch install, are you being a little hard on yourself. If the clutch works and you installed the plate right and everything was tight as it should be my thoughts our how? Bad clutch maybe.

You float the gears basically. I get the same hop empty, but as soon as you put some weight on it. The truck it acts like more of a sports car. How much did it stiffen up the pedal for you?

The pedal feels like it should go down more,,, but the heap n release points are fine.

I've got some pics. Got a sweet load

Kinda hard to see the halos n the pics

Finally gonna make some $$$$$

Here they are. Looks kinda funny up close,,, but looks good when I stand back

LEDs everywhere

The marker lights are the only reg bulbs

I've got the 4 up fitter switches too. Talk bout a control freak

I like this,,,, had to glue em up, but they've been there for 6 yrs. I think they're stayin.

I might be overthinking the clutch,,, I hope. It is hard at times to get into gear,,, not like the clutch is the issue tho, it doesn't try n roll as I try,,, I took the trans to the car wash before I resealed it,,, I didn't plug the lines,,,, I'm sure some water got n there. I will deal with that when it's time. I was finding remans for $2k. Maybe it will free up. I'm runnin Mobil 1 full synthetic ATF.

Just dropped the first oil,,,, Back to normal life. Hopefully. Lol

Looks good! Like all the switches on the left side. Now that I know your ride, I'll keep an eye out for you here in the Portland/Vancouver area.

This has been a great thread.
