It's an engine not a NASA project. How tough is it to get?

Fine.

The best V10 has 362 HP.
The least powerful PSD has 215 HP.

Lets match them up and see how well your statment holds up.

How about the 03-04 6.0s vs the V10 on longevity and reliability?

457 for the V10.

I can't find stock torque specs for the 95-96 7.3s.
I'm still looking though.

That is for the auto trans 2000+ 7.3s.

The 95-96 had 450 ft lbs and the 97 had 480 ft lbs from what I just found.
One place said 95-96 with the auto had 425, but I'm not sure if thats right.

Who started this thread anyway,,,,,,,,

And we are no closer to a conclusion than the day it was started. Well, in some peoples minds.

It is fun to read though, and take part in sometimes.

Wait until the fools find out that this thread and the arguments are pointless, and how easy the weak can be manipulated! Man are they going to be pissed!

This thread is far from pointless. I have learned more about the PSDs from this thread than from everywhere else combined.

I don't think they are necessarily pointless. What they can not take into account is that whether you like a V-10 or a PSD, in your eyes, it is the better truck. And there is nothing wrong with that.

You may be getting a basic knowledge about them, but to really get to know them, you need to spend time in the PSD forums. And, each one is different. The only ones that are close are the 94 to 97 PSD, and the 99 to 03 PSD, both are the 7.3. Even with that, there are some differences between those model years. The go to guys on the 7.3's, I don't believe I have seen them post in this thread. If they did, it was very few times. Of course, the 7.3 forums is where I go for help since that's what I have.

Yea, I thought I was buying a 99 7.3 last week so I started a thread in the 99-03 PSD forum and started reading everything I could about them.
It did not work and I did not get the truck, but I'm still lurking and reading about them. There is a ton of info about them there.

I am going to grab one if I find it for the right price.

But Bill, if the v10 is the greatest towing engine ever, why on earth would you buy a 7.3?

Sorry, someone had to!
