OMG, seriously. Okay, I get that 1 truck (in the SD category) out of 250 drives 7,500 miles a month, and I would imagine only half of those actually change their oil at 7,500 miles. In that I have read numberous people that drive that many that routinely go 20,000 miles.

So, I would say, .2% of the trucks changing their oil monthly is a ridiculously low number.

This is one of many times I sit here and wonder why I spend time on here.

There are way more important things a person should make in the decision, such as:
Fuel cost difference in their location
Expected number of miles driven
Percentage of towing, how heavy, and what altitude
What they desire to have
etc.

We have spent way too much time on immaterial stuff such as "your oil change costs $80" LOL
I get ur point.I think me n u know what we r talkin bout. Some other ppl on the other hand aint gonna get ur point bc they dont want to.

I'm just saying, the year I put 37,000 miles on my V10 I did about an oil change a month. With all the idling, dust and WOT time, I felt like 3,000 mile oil changes were called for.

I do them at 5-6,000 now that its being used more gently, and with my miles now thats about 2, maybe 3 a year.

Instead of jumping in on pg 618 read the other 617 like the rest of us. We know all about the 6.0. I do my own maintance and it cost me less than $60 just like most others on here. I know what the maintance consist of my diesel and gasser.
Hooking the trucks bumper to bumper don't prove anything. You have so many varibles like tires, weight, gearing, or even human stupity. Now I'm up for a good ol tug of war match or hauling trailers. That's right up my alley.
A lot of other ppl are understanding what im sayin besides u. Mk u can do an oil change urself for under 60 woo hoo. I can do 3 oil changes and then some ona v10 for that money.... MY POINT EXACTLY. DIESELS COST MORE TO MAINTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Warranty claims aint everything dude. Get in touch with someone u know u can trust such as a Ford Field Service Engineer... Do u some research u can get an email adress. Ask them what they think. Talk to someone from the Ford Hotline. Ask them how many calls they get a day on 6.0s. Ask how many calls they get on V10's. Ask which years have the most trouble.... Just bc u google somethin doesnt mean its ur best resource...
Im tired of fightin with u bc i aint gettin any where. Got better things to do.

Not necessarily, when you factor in fuel mileage. Getting 18 or 19 unloaded compared to 13 or 14 more than makes up for the difference. When talking ongoing costs, need to factor all that in.

Now if you blow a HG or something on the 6.0, that is another matter unless you can do the work yourself.

When did this thread become v10 vs. 6.0? Does someone need to change the title? I'm pretty sure my 6.4 is way better than that gasser crap.

So the V10 is now " gasser crap "?

I'm going to laugh when your trucks as old as mine and its cheaper to buy a new one than keep it on the road.
Of course, that is if your brave enough to keep it once the warrenty is up.

I'm pretty sure my 6.7L is better than your 6.4L! And I STILL wish some days I had a gas truck!

I do understand you. I totally agree and saying somewhat the same thing. I can careless what my oil cost. At the same time I see how the cost is a big deal for these other guys. They drive their trucks just to be cool. I will comment every time someone comes in and throws a title around and "puts down" wrong info for others to "pick up".
Yea I'm done w/ this conversation I reckon we'll go back to talking about gear ratios.

I'm done. Aight? I have a 6.0. I don't care what some body thinks about them. If you'll take time to understand what you read. You'll clearly see I stated I talk w/ service departments as well as internet searchs. I'm sorry you haven't brought anything to this conversation. I will see my way out. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

It is, as I found out in a 2011 F350 KR... but let's not in-fight!

If anything the 6.4L PSD will prove to be the WORST PSD made in the future. Not only is it plagued with bad MPG for a PSD (comparable to V10 mpg)(don't even try to lie with 18-20 mpg claims. We have two of these trucks in our fleet at work and they never ever get over 13 mpg unloaded), it was only a 2 year run meaning low production in comparison to other years. Good luck finding affordable parts when your "life saving" warranty runs out.

All this talk about 6.0L and 6.4L's makes me just that much more sure that I made the right decision on wanting and getting a 7.3L PSD. Long live the 7.3L!

.... and my PSD will still out pull your v10.....

I have mine and there is not Warrenty, Well there is I warrenty all the costs

As you were saying earlier I change my oil about 6-7k miles The miles is accually less because Im doing it by months I dont put alot of miles on my truck I just broke 90k miles I bought it with 40kish. You need to change it based on usage I completely agree. If I was doing alot with my truck it would be changed out every 3k miles or so.

Limited run is why I wouldnt consider one unless I got a Steal on it. and Im talking 10-15k under Blue book. Other then That I dont think I would pick one up.
