These are typically vehicles that attract those types. It's simply the "flavor of the day" with most of those people, and they're all experts after speaking with the "preferred" internet "guru", when if fact-they're dumber than a box of, well......you get the point.

Both engines are available with the same transmissions for the most part
Both engines come with the same transmission gears, but both engines don't come with the same ability to utilize those gears. For example, say we are both pulling a 15,000 lb load on flat land at 65 mph with a 5 speed manual tranny. We are both going to be in 5th gear at about 2,000 rpm. Then we hit a hill and both of us downshift to 4th. We are both going to be turning about 2,800-3,000 rpm in 4th gear. The psd is now at peak hp and can only gain a couple more mph before the redline and can't downshift again. So it is forced to climb the hill at that speed or slow down 10-15 mph and downshift again. The v10 can downshift again and will be turning about 4,000 rpm and still have 2,000 rpm to accelerate or even downshift again.

I've driven Ford since I was old enough to drive minus a 1973 Toyota Corolla my dad bought me back in 1982 that he didn't care if I wrecked or not...which I did.
When I first moved here, all of my neighbors had Dodge's...One still has one that is like 10 years old and serves him well going to the liquor store every night. Every work van, or truck on my street is now a Ford, and most of the cars too....I wonder why....
A steam engine has more torque then either the V10 or the PSD. Look at those huge locomotives. That's what my next purchase will be for.
Relax, y'all- I found the perfect diesel for all you die hard PSD fans - when your oil burner gives up the ghost, go for some real power- (may need a large cowling on the hood):
I towed my 31' Airstream over 500 miles through the mountains of Idaho and Utah with stretches of 75 mph interstates and averaged 8.6 mpg. Lowest speed up hills was on Horseshoe Bend Hill at 60 mph and I passed a new Dodge diesel with a bumper-pull with a lighter weight than my Airstream. Very satisfied with the 72,xxx miles on my V-10. Not a single problem in 3 years of use.
