My V10 has been outstanding. I would buy another if it was available in the Pick Up, but the 6.2 has many unknowns. The 6.7 looks outstanding.
The 6.2 is basically an "updated" modular platform. IMO it will be probably be more reliable than the 6.7 just because it has fewer parts, fewer parts mean fewer parts to brake. Now I'm sure the diesel folks are going to come on here and tell me the 6.7 will be better because of low RPM's. I'm sorry but the PSD is brand new and has a new turbo, I can't see it being more reliable than the 6.2 was based on the last decade of modulars... just my opinion. Time will be the only truth.
I have no doubt the 6.2 will be a more reliable engine, but the 6.7 should do well too.
Its more than a decade, the first modular came out in 1991.
The 6.2 should be a great engine, I just think they need to add two more cylinders to the block. If they did, I would start saving to buy a new truck.
Boy i almost pulled the trigger today on a 2011 f 450 king ranch. Too many dang zeros at the end of the price!!!! A quick question on the heated and cooled seats though, has anyone had problems with the holes in the seats clogging up with dirt, grease, or anything? And is the built in nav. pretty accurate or is it just hit or miss?
Well they are modular engines right, with aluminum heads. Just going by past experiences!
I am sure if you put them in wrong they can come out of the 6.2 too.
Thats why you use a torque wrench.

I just wonderd becuase from what I have read the F450 pick up is just a bigger F350 and has 400 HP/ 800 TQ.
The F450 CC is on a tougher frame and uses the 300HP/660TQ 6.7.
Two diffrent types of turbo from heavy trucks to light trucks and the F450s are cut in the middle on which they fall under.
They told me they could boost the hp and tq up on the cc. The spring pack on the cc was bigger than the pickup one. Its a hard decision to make but i do like the looks of a pickup style loaded down with ranch hand replacement bumpers front and back and headache rack!!

Wow, 2011 KR 6.7 CC F450 4x4 pickup with ranch hand bumpers and headache rack?!?
The mental image has me drooling...
Its a shame to even use such a beautiful truck for work.
I am still planning on pulling your trailer around with my V10, I just have to fix a few things on it first.

You do know the 2011 F450 can't legally tow as much as the 2011 F350 right? If you really want a towing beast, find a 2010 F450 left over on the lot, should be a tad cheaper too.
