What Ford really needs to do is offer a F series pickup with a 300HP TWO STROKE engine in it.

IS there any production car right now with a two stroke in it. It would be an awesome thing. Since I got my new E-Tec I have been thinking it they can make a outboard two stroke that gets better fuel economy than the 4 strokes, has cleaner emissions with out a cat or anything like that that why can't they put one in a car or truck? Oil injected they would have lots more room to fit it and weight would not be as big of an issue.

even more humor out of this thread....
one is saying it will and one is saying it won't....

one is talking about 1.6 60' in a t'bird and another about datalogging on the sct !!!

I KNOW the sct will data log...

I had a 2002 lincoln LS that had the v8 in it
(was a GREAT handling sister to the tbird) but 1.6's were out of the question in that dog

but depends on what he's done to his tbird -
if he put a v-10 in it bet you'd all say it could do it

and know there are supercharger kits readily available for the small v8's in them
but it's doable... reasonable...

NOT like some other statements spouted by certain gas engine posers

its how you use your truck. deisels are for use everyday built to go a million miles work hard everyday, v10 for ocassional towing and trips with the family with lots of room thats why i got my v10. i have 5 vehicles total and they all have their purpose. gas mileage i dont care about because dont put lot of miles on it. it would break the bank if it were my daily driver though

That's why 2 stroke engines have not been highway legal since the '80s (that's last street legal 2 stroke production engine I can remember...and that was in a Yamaha motorcycle).

2X I tow with a V10 every day too, nice & quiet.

...To get a 12.16 1/4 out of a 97 bird with a 4.6 your going to need about 500 HP . Thats almost imposible with out a blower , did you get these times at the drag strip ??? Lew

Negative. It's a N/A 4.6l 2V. Don't believe it? Too bad.
This car is legit-I built it,and it makes approx 300rwhp on the dyno.

I have a 99 crown vic with the same motor and trany.
how are you doing that? That is fast for a cobra mustang.

Ok thats cool , thats amazing , would love to see some pics of it to see how you have it set up , i have a 3800# truck with 280 RWH that runs 14.3 , i have had a few 5.0 stangs but never a 4.6 but i know a few people that do & they won't run anywhere near that . So im impressed , pics please ... Lew
