Just add two more cylinders and I will agree!
Still a beast even if it is a little small.
What kind MPGs are you seeing?
Absolutely! It's a beast in a smaller package. I'm seeing 12-14 in the city and 14-16 on the highway. When towing my enclosed trailer (THE BRICK) at 70-75 mph, I'm seeing right at 10mpg. (9.9 to be exact.)
Like I said before, you'll get no complaints from me about the V10. No doubt a very good, dependable, and strong motor. I loved the one that I had even though she was thirsty.
Let me tell ya, if I hadnt traded my V10 Excursion on the 6.4, I would not have my 6.2 right now.
The 6.4 had to go, so now I have the 6.2. Now, I'm very happy again.
Thanks, but what engine beside the V10 was eliminated. This is what they made before. 5.4 and 6.8. Now 5.4 and 6.2. What am I missing. The V10 is still used in the 450 and 550. It is also used in motorhomes. The 6.2 just replaced the 6.8.

The 5.4L is gone in the Superduty, as is the 6.8L. The 6.2L is the ONLY available gasoline engine.

I do not want to argue with you PSD guys, I just want to know More about how the PS compares to the v10.
I agree with some of what you said, but a straight pipe v10 sounds pretty good.
The resale is higher on the PS, but it has more depreciation than the v10.
The resale is only higher because the purchase price is higher.
I have heard of 500K v10's they do last a long time.
What kind of MPG is this new 6.4PS getting?
from what I have heard it is about the same.
Yes, you get more tq, yes mods can be done for even more tq
but a v10 can put out 750HP with a supercharger.
BTW, rolling coal is the one thing we can not do with the V10.
there is no better sound then a straight piped diesel and the power difference is amazing. yes the the v 10 has alot of power but the cost to out a supercharger on a v10 can get you alot more then 750 hp and a whole hell alot more torque on a diesel and the 6.4 is the only diesel that ford used that didnt get better gas milage thats why it only lasted a few years
I was talking about the 6.4 becuase its the most powerful of the PSDs made in the F250/350 at the same time as the V10. The same thing goes for the 6.0 too.
A stock 7.3 is a joke vs the 3V V10.
The 6.7 is a beast in the lighter trucks and is by far the best towing engine out there.
In the CC F450 and up the V10 still makes more power then the 6.7.
Where are you and what are the specs on your truck?

the stock 7.3 is underpowered compared to it yes but there is alot to do to them cheap and make a world of difference but i do see where your coming from and i dont know much about the 450 and up just f250 and f350. but im in stationed down in fort worth texas, in the navy as a diesel tech and its just a 2004 f250 with 5.4 gaser. its stock performance except exhaust not really anything special but i want a diesel
Just because the 6.2 has 2 plugs per cylinder and burns gas doesn't mean it is going to perform like the hemi any more than saying "your psd burns diesel fuel just like a jetta" is going to make them perform in a similar manner.
If that 6.2 can run anything like the HEMI SRT-8.... it would be sweet. However my PSD does burn fuel like a Jetta and every other diesel...

UH OH If this statement was true then the ecoboost v6 with 415hp will out pull any 6.7 psd if both are geared the same. Also the gassers can't complain about them not having a turbo now either. So i guess all diesel drivers [ including myself ] should watch out for them v 6 trucks out pulling us! On the other hand i will stick with my diesels because i know fact from fiction.
