Been done, or is everyone forgetting again?
Pretty much the same load, same speeds, and video of both runs.
Minimum gear offered in the V10 truck, and maximum gear offered in the 6.4L truck.

I've forgotten. Enlighten me. Let me guess the condiction. 10k trailer 1/8 of a mile on flat track. The v10 crossed the finish line how many 10ths faster? That's not work. Load to max gcvw and beyound in all of terrains and grades and let see how them 10ths get closer together. Put yall trucks where your mouth is.

We run a V10 2005 or 2006 F350 that pulls a mini excavator EVERY DAY to jobsites. This truck may as well have the hitch pin welded shut-the gooseneck rarely ever gets removed from this truck. This trailer/excavator combination alone weight 16K. It goes everywhere-all types of terrain, all weather condition, all speeds, etc. It gets used for REAL WORK.
Here's a pic of the trailer/load tied onto the back of my truck the day I did the short video:
That trucks gets 9 mpg average towing that load, and this is over the 53K miles we've ran this truck so far. It's NEVER been to the shop for a single thing, and gets it's oil changes, etc at the quick-lube down the street. The 7.3L PSD we replaced with this V10 truck got the SAME fuel mileage towing that same trailer with a SMALLER excavator that weighed 2200lbs LESS, and it was FAR from trouble free.
The videos that I'm speaking of are in this thread, from post #89-on. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ith-video.html
My truck with the MINIMAL offered gear for the V10 (4.10), and Tom's 6.4L with the MAXIMUM offered gear (3.73). Nearly identical times 0-60 from a dead stop, and my truck had nearly 2000 lbs. MORE weight attached to it.
Point is, the V10 is just as capable as the PSD of accelerating a load, and towing the SAME loads as a PSD, and doing it with only one single real world shortcoming-fuel economy. THATS IT-NOTHING MORE. In a REAL WORLD comparison, I have yet to see a PSD with the SAME LOAD get fuel economy numbers that offset the extra fuel costs that are present in 90%+ of the US right now of diesel being more expensive that gasoline. This only exists in your dream world where you snort diesel fumes for fun.
Now, there are situations that ANY turbocharged engine will be more effective, and high altitude is one of them. This is not a fault of the gasoline engine, nor is it a strength of a diesel engine. Invert the powertrains and take a turbocharged gasoline engine to high altitude with a N/A diesel engine, and see what happens. That turbocharged engine will pull better simply because it is capable of cramming more of that thin air down the engine's throat.

I think your post on June 8th there even says the 3v lost by 4 seconds. But two things, you can't compare trucks on different days and locations, and different trailers. I pull my brother's tractor way easier than my toy hauler even though they are similar weight due to less wind drag.
I still don't see where the v10 outpulled the 6.4.

That truck looks like a pavement queen if I've EVER seen one. (Especially in 2WD) It doesn't look like its even seen the rain before...At least in that pic...

ALL of my vehicles live outside, not in a garage. I just take care of them because I actually keep them instead of changing vehicle like pants, and keep them for more than the warranty period.
Nice attempt to derail the conversation there and distract from the facts presented.

Facts? You want facts? Fact: Your 2WD isn't going to take that gooseneck, let alone loaded with that excavator very far "off-road". That's a FACT. You make it sound like you go 4X4ing with a 2WD truck...In those Texas mountains...lol That is a pavement queen. And a slow one, to boot.

WTF are you smoking?
Do you have a reading comprehension issue?
I've never said I take my truck off-road. It's a 2WD, and serves it's purpose. I don't see anywhere in this thread where it says anything about 4WD vs 2WD?

Then answer my questions to get back on track. Can't compare a 2wd to 4wd either when comparing v10 to psd...

What question?
I've never claimed that my truck will "outpull" a PSD of the same vintage. I simply stand by my statement that it will pull the same load just as effectively as the PSD does.
Yourself, along with several others here make it seem as if a V10 truck has to get help just to get out of it's own way, and is nothing even close to a PSD, when this is simply NOT true.

My dream world. Well let me wake up. The hay I haul weights 20k ALONE. In the field. Is that REAL enough. The hrain heads I haul is 10k +lbs alone. Matter of fact the lightest thing I haul is cattle. You said yourself that run ended dead even. What's my stand? The v10 will not out pull the psd. 4mph and more difference more than makes up for gas prices. In the other thread most v10 owners are reporting 11-12 mpg avg empty unless I missed understood. I figured up w/ the v10 getting 14mpg and still make strides w/ fuel milage over cost. 20k lbs of hay if its just me I get around 12 mpg. If I have other hauling also around 10 mpg. Mainly cause a lot of idleing waiting to get loaded and unloaded. Empty I get 18 mpg. Brother I think its time for you to wake up.. Where are you located at. I would love to some time to come show you your v10 can't out pull my 6.0l.

So you've had that 20K "in the field" on the scale, or is this more of just an assumption?
Load up that hay trailer, and c'mon down to SE Texas. You're gonna find out that they will tow with the same effect, just using a different method.
