You would have to put the rock in a 5.4, 4X4 Screw with a 6.5' bed to get what mine was. Don't you understand that? I also had a Rhino Liner in the bed which weighed (according to Rhino) approx 200lbs. The Payload for MY truck was 1280lbs. 840lbs of rock, 200lbs of Rhino, and oops, I forgot my toolbox which was full and probably had another 300lbs of crap in it. A pic of my truck is in my profile. My point is that MINE didn't haul much in the bed. THAT is why I switched over to a 250. The payload on that Scab you have is rated at 1680lbs. That's an additional 400lbs over my old one. If you want to keep this going as a "Totally different model F150 vs ChargersFaninCO's F150" feel free, but the truck you're using isn't even close to mine.

I never did get the air bags. I was still planning on that upgrade when I bought my '08 F250 and never looked back.

The PSD. Each engine has the power to spin all 4 wheels in 4LO, so the truck with the most traction will be the one that wins. The PSD trucks weigh ~500 lbs more, so that would be what matters here.
In 2WD it would likely be a draw, as both engines will spin the rear wheels and the rear axles should weigh about the same between engines.
In 4HI, neither trucks would likely spin all 4 wheels so the one producing the most power at the stall speed of the torque converter(~2,000 RPMs) would win. This would clearly be the diesel, as the V10 doesn't start to pull any harder until north of 4,500 RPMs.

Well, I have never been to see a tug-of-war contest, but I would guess the diesel since it weighs more, and assuming the tires and hitches are equal. Come to think of it, I'd say the driver has a lot to do with it too.

lol...ummm...DIESEL, FTW!!! Seriously? Whoever spins their tires first will lose. That's a no-brainer.
To caveat on my F150 woes and hopefully let it go away, though that's up to the Mods...I used to run it loaded every day, and overloaded quite a bit. I blew one engine on the first one (well documented in the F150 forums and Ford stepped up to replace it) and a transmission on the second one in less than 18 months. The dealership bought back my first one because they had so many problems getting the engine right. They tore a leather seat, couldn't get the exhaust manifolds to seal to the new engine, and much much more. You're not the only one hard on a vehicle Bill...
Anyway, I believe my springs were weak in the first place from being overloaded all the time but nobody bothered to ask. The final straw for me was hitting the bump stops with 840lbs of rock in it on the second truck. I found over 20 different threads talking about worn out leafs on the 04-08 F150's on 3 different forums back when my problem occurred, and I know I was hell on that truck. That's why I now have an F250 that has 800lbs (usually minimum of 800lbs) in the bed daily.
If you load an F150 up on occasion and haul a short distance, an F150 will handle it. If you're hauling 800+lbs of tools and equipment in a 4X4 Screw on a daily basis and parking it overnight still loaded, you'll wear it out in less than 7 months. Period. (That's how long I owned my second 2008 F150) I don't haul on occasion; I haul daily since it is a work truck for me. I keep it clean, and do my daily PM's on it, but I work it harder in a month than most people will work theirs in a year; and that's a FACT. I bought my F250 in May of 2010, and have 8417 miles on it as of August 21st, 2010 with no problems. I'm hoping the add-a-leaf I had installed will keep me happy for a few years since the F350 would have cost me another $400.00 a year to license. I probably could have got similar payload results on the F150, but it was severely underpowered up here in the first place.
6 bags of Quik-rete will bury a Ranger unless it's the F100 type.
Not sure what kind of wimpy Ford trucks you have out your way but that was just not the case with my Ranger.....
Not that I have anything to prove to you, and not that you'll believe me anyway, but I once hauled ten 70lb bags (all stacked near the front of the bed) and was certainly not "buried". I've also hauled 1/2 ton of sand and was again not "buried". Slow going? Yes. Sitting on the bump stops? Nope.
Not sure what kind of wimpy Ford trucks you have out your way but that was just not the case with my Ranger.....

I hauled over 1,000lbs of gravel in my old 84 4x4 Ranger v6..........not on the stops, no problem getting it going................stopping? steering?.....not so much.
Those early 80s Rangers were stout!.......had a later (90) Ranger, it would not take the tongue wt. of a 15ft alum. fishing boat without adding overloads.

When I said "wimpy", obviously I wasn't referring to the most awesome truck in the world, that you presently own. The wimpy trucks I'm referring to are all the F150s and Rangers you see that hit the bump stops when a mosquito lands in the bed.

Wrong again, my 5.4 is all that I'll need. I bet you a silver dollar that I can go anywhere in my 5.4 that you can go in your PSD. My truck gets me, my family, and all our stuff where we need to go and that's what I ask of it. I'm not on here claiming that I can out pull you or out run you.
