It would be interesting to see how they converted it to 4WD.

Aaaaaaarg! I buy another car and suddenly there's crew cabs everywhere. Again, I don't know the seller, etc.- but check this one out...

Yeah, that hurts. I've been looking for the past few months, though, and none seemed to be around, then as soon as I give up and buy a car they start popping up.

Wow, being a Phoenix truck it is probably rust free.

I apologize I didn't read all 69 pages only 25.

I have lots of questions but one of the questions I have to start is what is the track width of a 73-79 era crew cab dually?

I'd have to check the book when I get home to see if they even made a crew dually in a 2wd model. If they did it would not of come with a bed. Did you find one somewhere to buy that you need to transport or something?

F28 could be the cab and chassis VIN# so yes it could be correct and I should of included that. I'd have to check when I get in to verify.

Unrelated to previous posts, but have to jump in here anyway.

Just bought an '86/4x4/Crew Cab/long box/6.9 Diesel/270,000 miles with Banks Turbo/Dana60's?? that was a project truck owned by a diesel mechanic. There are a lot of things I want and need to do but first on the list is to find or convert my front and maybe rear seats to something with headrests for safety because this might end up being my daily driver and for sure a hauler for road trips for the kid's rodeos.

I have found a brand new set of F/R cloth seats 40/20/40 from a 2010 f150 4 door that a guy tore out to put in leather but have no idea if they will fit with respect to size(they may be too small and look goofy) or the bracket/tracks.

The other set I found is from a 2000 crew cab and has the bench with high-backs? on passenger and driver side.Pretty beat up but look stock rather than upgrade to newer.

Can't seem to find any aftermarket headrests that might insert into the potential holes and bracket that may be looming under the cloth.Haven't looked yet as just saw a post with that comment.

Any ideas,comments,sites to go to....?

What are you looking in Ranger429?? Is it just the factory shop manuals? or do you have a crew specific book?? I'm curious as to what the F28 is now..LOL
