Any chance of getting those waveforms converted to a .jpg and uploading them?
That sort of technical information is very valuble to a lot of us.
I'll see what kind of programs (for uploading Fluke data) I can pirate off of the internet this weekend at my friend's house. I don't think there should be a problem in getting waveforms. I will be sure to keep you guys posted because I too am curious about this phenomenon we have going on here.
After looking at all these posts I am thinking: the CPS sets up a sync pulse for a phase locked loop somewhere in the PCM. If you don't get a pulse every cycle you probably can go a couple of revolutions ( maybe even a hundred) before the PLL needs resync, BUT the timing is going to drift slow a couple of milliseconds {otherwise no need for the timing pulse}. Better signal then equates to reliable synch pulse which means earlier accurate fuel delivery.
Possibly the reason for some people noticing rapid changes concerns the update process of the "look up" writes to the memory chip. IE: if you disconnect the battery, you need a ten starts and shutdowns to reprofile the entire use tables.
You will need to get a pulse from an injector or someplace else for a reference as to when it is firing. This may help in telling what it is doing with the timing. If you just have the pluse you will not be able to say if it shifts the timing or not. Good luck.
Do any of you here that have installed the blue cps also have an hpx line installed? I am wondering if the hpx line smooths the idle and the blue cps also smooths the idle, if you have them both- do you start getting diminishing returns?
I have both. But, I installed both at the same time, so I was not able to compare how one changed the trucks performance, then see how the other added to it. I did notice much easier cold starts though. 30* the other moring, had been down into the 20's over night, didn't have the truck plugged in, and it fired up on the first cycle of the key!!

that is NICE JTHARVEY!!! glad to hear it. I am installing my hpx line this weekend and hoping to do the blue cps shortly after, but just wanted to know what anyone who had done both before me experienced. thanks again
3 weeks ago I changed to 5w-40 Rotella synthetic. The oil change made cold start ups much easier and the motor was more quiet while cold. About a week after the oil change my HPX came in. After install I noticed the engine seemed to be a little more quiet than before and the engine seemed to be even smoother at idle. Yesterday I installed the DT466 CPS. I've only driven about 15 miles with it in town and honestly I cannot tell any difference. I have read some people's trucks didn't respond to the new CPS right away so maybe mine falls into that category, only time will tell.
I will be leaving the blue CPS in tho, consensus says it makes the trucks run better with increase in fuel mileage. While I had the two CPS's laying on the work bench, I used the magnet on the black CPS to pick up my 4" long 10mm combo wrench. As I tried to hold the wrench vertical it would slide off the magnet. Now with the Blue CPS the magnet would hold it vertical.....quite a bit stronger.
I thought about disconnecting my batteries to reset the cpu but decided not to just because I hate reprogramming the radio
My truck get about 300 miles put on it a month during the winter so it will be awhile before I can really tell if fuel mileage has increased or not and even then I might not get to tell since race season is here in March which means I'll be pulling a trailer...........primary purpose for my truck.

I put the HX line form DI on and that smoothed and quieted the engine quite a bit. About 2 weeks later, I put the Blue IH CPS in. It improved the engine sound and smoothness even more, made a cold start up sound like the engine was warm. I'm on my 4th tank of fuel since the cps install and my mileage is up by 1.6 mpg.
