Just finished update today and ready for UPS to pick it up.

Pease make inquiries like this through superchips customer service whenever possible because I can not be relied upon in here as my attendance in the forums is sporadic.

FYI, to the users:

Return issues, RA's, etc., should not be handled on the forums. FTE is not Superchips customer support. Handle that with Superchips and limit discussion on the forums to technical issues only.

This includes asking how you go about updating your tuner, contact Superchips directly.

Hello 'Vic',

My buddy called me and said he is very pleased with the 1704 tuner after the recent update, He says it works very well. Thanks for getting that done for him.

I recently ordered the new 1704 for my 2004 F250 6.0. After waiting until my first oil change / service at the dealer, I installed the unit per the directions. I installed the econ mode and all I can can say is WOW. It's almost like a new super truck. I took several friends for a ride and all they could do was laugh. Its so fast that they just were shocked its a truck. It really makes driving fun. It performs better than I expected. I can't wait to try the Hi Per mode.

I'm glad you like it.

The PERF has a little more kick, though the Econ is still strong. Most like the Econ best for daily driving.

Can the 1704 be updated via the web like the Diablo can?

Welcome and no, it must be sent back to SuperChips.

I think that this has been covered before earlier in this thread. Get yourself a cup of coffee or a beer or two and sit back for some good reading. There's a lot of good information in this thread and a number of associated ones. The search feature of the board is really quite handy and if you find that you'd like to know more about a given topic in a post the search feature will usually turn up some gems.

Happy hunting,

Daryl

I Just wanted to express my satisfaction with my Superchips Tuner and the support from the folks at Superchips. I installed mine and was pleased with the power but I didn't care much for the stiff shifting. I spoke with Kenny and sent the unit back to them 2nd day UPS and enclosed a check to upgrade the return shipping. The turn around when it got to them was very quick and I had it back from Florida in exactly 1-week. I'm all smiles and my truck shifts much better now. The 1704 provides a lot of bang for the buck. Good going Superchips.

As for the tuner, in the economy tune the power is awesome from my 2004 6.0, the bonus is my fuel ecomomy has improved by 5% and I haven't noticed any increase in smoke or exhaust temperatures. I'm running a AFE intake system 4" SS exhaust, no CAT and have disabled the egr system. At idle, the exhaust temp runs about 500 degrees at idle and usually jumps up to 800 to 1,100 max out here in the Las Vegas summer heat while driving arownd town. It feels like I've got another gear on the freeway. I'd spin my tires if they weren't going up in cost faster that steel and diesel.

MotorHaven is offering a $40 instant rebate on SCMT through Sept. 8th (see announcement at top of forum). I just got off the phone with Peggy at MotorHaven. My 1704 is on the way, can't wait until Saturday for it to show up (Alaska does not quite have overnight shipping). Too bad SuperChips doesn't have the microtuner out for my 2004 V-10 yet, otherwise it would be a great opportunity to buy on at a great price.

Who says they don't?

The 1714 works on the 2004 V10 (truck and excursion), along with the 4.6 and 5.4 in the 04 F150

There will be loaded and unloaded runs released soon.

I put a post in another thread about needing a manual truck.

When the need is satisfied, I will have plots ready.

We're FINALLY down to the wire, and I've got the time to do it=o)

I will be glad to dyno mine at the first chance I get!

Wicked fast,
All I need is time and opportunity! What I want to see is mine in stock trim, then program it and run again to see what the difference there is against my base line trim run. Personally, I will be happy with whatever I get because it is certainly WAY more than in stock tune. What I also fine interesting is how many of the Predator boys post here quite often, but I just logged on to the web site & noticed that Vic had posted on their site. My interest piqued, I looked over there and saw a response he made to a question about Superchips made there, and just a matter of a minute later came a slam from a Preditor owner-who posts here quite often- who asked which thread he was in(I could see his confusion with as often as he posts here).
Man, I really don't understand all this bickering- aside from someone that works for or distributes one or the other, because I really believe both products are good and it really is just a matter of personal choice. The only I even went to their thread was to see what a response was, and I certainly have no intention on trolling over there to stir up trouble, so to each his own!
I just want to dyno MY truck, which will give MY results on that exact given day, no more, and no less.
John Russell
ps, Hey, a lot of these guys live in the Dallas area, and I would welcome a chance to meet any of them, regardless of that "stuff" they bought, I just want to see what others did & how they like it! Who knows, I moght just duplicate their efforts, which is certainly a form of flattery!
