Everyone keeps talking about the ability to change the transmission shift firmness. I went into the options of my flashpaq and there isn't one. Just rev limiter, tire rating and tire size. Where am I missing the trans option?

Yeah what bansheemike said, I too have not seen that option in my flashpaq. I purchased mine about 3 months ago an only see rev limiter and tire settings. Can anyone explain?

Can anyone confirm that Superchips charges $200.00 to update the programmer if you bought it used? If this is true, are there any alternatives?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

1.Shift points and firmnesses are NON adjustable for the enduser. They are already optimized in the tuning.
2. Peak Vs. MAx= peak is the most amount the program made in a daily usable normal driving within rpm-rpm.
And Max is the MAXIMUM amount made thoughout the rpms range when getting on it.

SC policy is that if you do not have a copy of A sales invoice of the purchase if the tuner with business name ,their is a charge of $200+shipping.

With a copy of a work order from Ford of your last update to the computer the charge is $75+shipping without a sales invoice.

With a invoice for the tuner their is a shipping only charge for the update.

Why you ask?
This is considered as a liecense to use our software, when you can prove ownership of the product.

Hi SuperChips Ron,
Glad that you are here on the forum.

How about updating us on some of the things that SuperChips is working on for the Flashpaq?
custom tunes?
updates, upgrades, etc.

I have had my Flashpaq for a week now. It didn't help with turbo lag, but the increased power is nice. Makes the truck more responsive. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of mpg increases I can get (once I get tired of playing with it, that is). Thanks for the product.

I tried resetting it but it remained there. So I reloaded the stock tune in preparation for taking the truck back to the dealer if need be. That cleared the light and it didn't come back on during the drive to work today (all of 4 miles). I'll leave it stock for a couple more days and if the light doesn't come back on I'll reload the performance tune and see what happens.
I had my ABS light come on while in Economy mode. Placed it back into Stock to get ready to take it to the dealer and by the time I got there (230 miles) it had gone away. Drove back home 350 miles and it came one 60 miles from home. Next day it was gone and hasnt come on for another 800 miles. Most of those 800 are back in Economy Mode. Will be pulling the 5ther next week for 1000 miles. See if it comes back on again. Possible dirty/moisture wheel sensor???

Is your truck a manual trans?
Custom tuning will be handled by HPTuning. We are working with these guys to make a software package that will allow you or a shop to custom tune the truck. You can use the FP as a pass through from your home computer after modifiing your own tune, and then program your truck with the Fp.
Their is a feature that Data logging will be installed into the FP. This will allow you to plug into the truck with it running and log by MPH and by distance. 0-30, 0-60 ect. 1/4mile time, 1/8mile times.
If you would like to see a sample go to HPTuners.com
Stay Tuned!!!

I have an automatic.
I downloaded the data logging update from your website last week, but haven't tried it yet.

I am looking forward to seeing what else Super Chips has to offer.

Thanks

Flahpaq Question

I just Installed the supeerchips flashpaq in my 05 f-350. It is awesome! The first question I have is about the dtr PO148, everytime I delete it, it always comes back. Should I worry about it or is it not that big of a deal. The truck runs fine but I was just wondering. Second is, everytime I set the power setting to economy before I start my truck. When I shut it off and check it before my next trip, it always returns to the performance power setting. Is that normal? If it is then it's no biggy I just want to know if there is a way that I can keep it on economy until I'm ready to change the power setting myself? Thanks in advance.

Aloha,
Kaipo

I have an 05 and don't have either of those issues.
Are you sure that you are actually changing the tune from perf. to economy. Does the Flashpaq actually take you thru a sequence of turning the key on and off, and does the screen actually say downloading files? If all of this happens, then go to view status, and it should say economy.

If all of this happens, then the next time you get in the truck, hook the Flashpaq back up and view status, it should still say economy. If it doesn't then you have a problem.

Thanks johndeerefarmer now I'm on the right track. I thought once you've installed the program then you wouldn't have to go through those steps to change settings. That's why this is the best site for ford enthusiast, because people are here to help out eachother. Big Mahalo to you!

Aloha,
Kaipo

Kaipo...are you plugging the programmer in and reprogram your truck everytime you start your vehicle or are you just checking the DTC? Even when you clear the DTC you don't need to reprogram the truck. If you are programming Economy, but the FlashPaq shows Performance then you are not going through a full program sequence. Like JohnDeere said...You have to go through two "Key ON/Off" sequences...One for the engine file and the other for the transmission file. Once you program your truck there is no need to hook up the FlashPaq again unless you want to move to a different performance program, return it to stock or just want to Check and Clear the DTC's.

When you first plug the FlashPaq in the port plug it will boot up and tell you exactly what tune you have currently installed.
