Superchips 6.0 Microtuner Thread
I think Ulrich looks strong, he has a Preditor. Mayo's out of the picture, he only has a Hypertech. lol
He guys it has been a real rough night....I will be a bit sharper in the AM...
I installed my new 1704 , bought at Motorhaven I might add, into my Ex last week and while low and medium levels and shifts feel good, WOT stinks. There is not near the power of my F250 with another chip, and the shifts are held at max rpm for about 7 seconds.
Has anyone seen this and I missed it? Vic, do you have any ideas?

I admit I am a new member, having just found this site, and I have not yet read through this complete thread, but I was REALLY looking forward to the new Superchip for my 2003 6.0 (5-30-03 date on the door & 6-6-03 under the hood)!! I went through about the first 6-8 pages, then clicked on the link to order one only to find the new product does not support the 2003 6.0! "2003 Powerstrokes are not warrented to work with the 1704 Microtuner".
Bummer!! Do any of you know what the deal is, or has this already been discussed in one of the earlier pages?
As always, thanks for the help.

If you had continued on you would find that indeed the '03 is supported.
I have an '02/03 build F-250 with the Dec '03 flash and the SC tuner works great with my truck. There is some cutoff date for earlier flashes which don't work with the SC tuner.
Do a search and read through the various posts regarding flashes, pilot injection, T/H mode, and so on and determine if a newer flash is required to use the SC tuner, and then decide for yourself whether or not you want to have your truck reflashed if necessary.
There's a lot of great info here on this site and some very knowledgeable folks who frequent the place. It is well worth your time to familiarize yourself with the search function so you can winnow through topics of interest, and to also read through the sticky post threads.
The Superchip advertised for the Ford 6.0 Powerstroke Dieses, 2004 has a stock # 2444. The picture shown is for the model 1704- which I believe is the tuner for the 7.3 engine. Their verbage in the ad under note: refers to the 2003 6.0 Powerstrokes, flash specific needs, then states that the 2003 Powerstrokes are not warrented to work with the 1704, thus with the confusion.
All that being said, I think it is time to maks a call to my dealer to verify my flash, update if need be, then place an order.
Thank you once again.

What would happen if I left my Juice Edge inplace and used a superchip microtuner to up my hp past the 100 limit of the edge? would the edge detume the superchip settings.
I like the ability to select on the fly but now and then I have no intentions of pulling anything I would like to push the extreams. I just hate to have to stop and open my hood every time.
I set my tune to the Tow Safe mode for the first time last night in preparation for pulling my trailer this weekend. The first thing that I noticed was that the shifting was much softer and more stock like. Does the Tow Safe mode use the transmission file as the Econo and Performance tunes?
I actually plugged in tuner this morning to verify that the Tow Safe tune was indeed loaded and it was. It is a quite noticeable difference.
