Greetings,
New to this forum and need some info. I've looked thru this thread and couldn't quite find an answer.
My father has an '04 E 350 Van with the 6.0 L engine. The sticker on the firewall reads, ROG-HAZ5-AHF 02/22/04.
Will the 1704 programmer work for this van? Also how do you adust the speed limiter? Any help would be appreciated.

The 1704 does not currently support the E-Series vans.

Where are you located?
vic, what is the difference in the F550? it seems alot of stuff doesnt work on it, as with the vans.....
is there a major difference? if i hooked up PSD 6.0L FX4's 1704, would it blow up like a bomb, or would it "kinda" work? or is this something where they say it doesnt work just because they havent tested it yet?

ur time and expertise is appreciated
The files for the f550, etc... are not in the tuners databse because they have not been tested yet.
Thank's for the reply. We're from Eaton Rapids, MI. I have a 2003 F150 w/5.4 L Triton. Is there anything available for my Dad's 2004 E-350 6.0 L thats reliable?
Many of the 03's easily break 700 ft lbs....some are making 730 FT LBS.
The 04's (and by that I mean 04 strategy) are not as fast, stock or modified.
The harley truck is an 04 strategy in all cases I've seen, and it makes less power like most 04 strategies..but it still leaves 80' burnouts =o)
I am very interested in the Superchips module but I have a few questions.
The sticker on the driver side door jamb has a date of 8/03 on it. I think that this is the build date. But my truck is an 04 model year with an 03 motor. I haven't done any reflash yet, but I have read that I will need a flash after 9/29/03 to run the Superchips program. I hear a lot about losing the pilot injection. Is that bad? Do I have it now? What else will a reflash do to my truck? Also, will my truck be one of those that makes more power than an 04/04 because it has an 03 motor?
Also, I have 42" super swampers on the truck, it has 4.88 gears, but the speedo is WAY off. Will this create problems with shifting if I add the Superchips program? It shifts great now, no probs 11,200 mi so far. P.S. I am unbiased towards any tuner or module, I just want the one that will work best on truck without problems. Thanks.
Anyone else that has had the fix for harsh shifting have it the "firmness" return? When I got mine back, it seemed to shift fine (like stock at lower rpm in econ mode), but after driving with it for a while it seems like it will shift real firm on occasion. Is it just me?

I have experienced the same thing! I drove mine about a hundred miles over a period of a week (several short trips) and shifting was great (very similar to stock) and after making a couple of hard runs from a standstill the shifting became much harsher. I don't think it is quite as harsh as before, but the shift points seemed to have moved higher at very light throttle. I've only driven it about 25 miles since it started shifting harsh so I don't know how long it will take "unlearn" the couple of hard runs or if it will ever return to the easy shifting I had before. Have you possibly made some hard runs with yours? (hard to resist!)

Matter of fact, I did
I had to put a Dodge and Nissan in their place. I told myself that I wouldn't thrash my truck after the Dodge incident, but I was sitting at a light (imagine that) and this yellow Nissan gunned it as he passed me (light turned green and he did not stop) it was obvious that he had his truck floored (in my mind I was wondering why because it was clear lanes ahead, and I came to the conclusion that he must think he's bad), so I floored it from a dead stop (I stopped looking at the speedo when I hit 90), I continued to accelerate and caught and passed him just before it turned into a single lane.
