ALWAYS wear hearing protection when cutting or welding!!!
Stamping your feet and screaming doesn't stop the sizzle in your ear, but it's all you can do...
My stamping and screaming wasn't due to the sizzling my ear but, something not as bad, the sizzling in my pants pocket that caught my shorts on fire and burned all the way through my underwear onto my thigh. I was definitely doing some of that temper tantrum stamping screaming kind of thing! Not as bad as yours in the ear but it was still "fun" nonetheless!
Install is done for now. In the process of taking my old radio out I bent the end of my backup camera wire and my backup camera does not work anymore. New AV cable will fix that. Also, I didn't know it before but after taking the dash bezel off, I found the in between part, the little divider between the radio and the AC controls is cracked in multiple places. I will have to live with it for now but, it will drive me nuts I'm sure and I'll just have to buy a new dash or fix that one with JB weld, sandpaper and paint matching......
Using the USB port on the back of the head unit itself worked great for forscan and now I have both of my extended USB ports free. Due to working in the dark I did not have time to figure out where I wanted them mounted yet. I'll figure that out at a later date when I have more time. They call a little while ago has bumped my schedule to loaded. My cousin wants me to put a transmission in his truck, I have three jobs to do, Grass to cut, sod to lay, all kinds of stuff. That's why I wanted to get my radio in tonight because I don't know when I'll have another free day. And I wouldn't free today but I got off at 5:00 so I was free tonight anyway. I'll post some pictures tomorrow! Very happy with the A6 gesture controls too. They work very well and it is so nice to be able to set each gesture command to do what you want it to do. I'm very happy with my new head unit!
Thank you all for all of your help!
I took the extended usb connections from the ATOTO unit and ran them to my glovebox and installed one of the USB charging ports SSJ recommended. Obviously not the most convenient place for the driver, but I only did that because I already added a USB charging port w/ voltage readout to my F650 dash. So the ATOTO connections were just extra, and I didn't want to cut anymore holes in my dash at the time. Just an added option that the passenger can plug something into to charge and stow it away. Just an idea.
Argh. All you guys with the F650 dashes quit posting pictures already. I'm broke enough as it is.
I told SJBJ the same thing a couple weeks ago. All of my questions about the 4x4 selector block off plate have been surrounding the F650 dash. I would move all gauges and switches down there.
Has anyone gotten any of the Bluetooth OBD adapters to work? I’ve tried 2 different ones and ForScan will recognize the adapter in the settings screen but when you go to connect it says no adapter found. My USB OBD EX hasn’t been all that reliable either. If you use other apps and go back to ForScan a lot of times it won’t reconnect until you shut the truck off and start over. I was hoping to try a Bluetooth adapter to see if it’s more reliable.

I have not tried to set up FSL with a BT adapter, so I have no comment on that. Although, I can say with absolute certainty that the USB OBDLink SX has been rock solid. I can minimize FSL and bring up Google Maps or rear view camera or whatever and go right back to FSL.
I know this is not of much help and perhaps a BT adapter user will chime in.

I’m wondering if my head unit isn’t a dud. My gps works about 1 out of 5 times and not for very long and later today the sound stopped working. All apps, radio, pandora, etc. I did a factory reset and everything but the gps is working again, at least for the moment.
I've been using the OBD2MX with TP on the Atoto, I don't have FSL on the head unit as I just use the gauges & check for codes occasionally. It also works perfectly with FSL on my phone & the Windows version on my laptop. HTH
Well, I think my unit is a dud, and Atoto’s customer service is horrible. Having GPS, WIFI and USB connectivity issues, sound stops working occasionally having to do a factory reset every time to get it to work again and now the network time doesn’t sync either. I was in the 90 day warranty period when I filed the claim with Atoto, but all they want to do is run tests and for me to send in videos and pictures for them to review. And to say a lot is lost in translation is an understatement. Unfortunately they discontinued all these models as well, which is probably why they are giving me the run around to replace it. This troubleshooting is too time consuming, frustrating.
