@SkySkiJason , are you able to download the .apk file for FORScan Lite from another device and then place it on the F7?

Another option is below...

Based on this post by you on 7-18-22 you bought the "F7 Standard". Sadly, the F7 does not appear to have WiFi connectivity, but it does have bluetooth connectivity. If your (Dawn's in this case) smartphone has the ability to create a hotspot, you could link broadcast the hotspot signal via bluetooth and link the ATOTO F7 that way. At least just to get it on the internet and download the apps you want like FORScan Lite, etc... This could be a temporary connection if she wanted the phone call connection to be in place instead of the bluetooth hotspot connection.

I was going to post a video of how to create a hotspot using bluetooth instead of WiFi, but I don't know what smartphone devices you have. Sometimes there are work arounds when dealing with technology.

TorquePro is garbage that I would like to get my $5 back so I can flush it down the toilet instead of sponsoring the company in their substandard and unreliable product. I have disdain for software that doesn't work properly, even after many years of being on the market.

All of the above is my opinion only and I am not a paid sponsor or supporter of anything.

I started with Torque Pro, and really haven't had any issues with it with the few virtual gauges I monitor on it. Still using it just because it is what I know and already have setup. I have Forscan, and have used it to do injector buzz tests along with speedometer adjustments, but haven't learned it enough to monitor gauges. One of these days I'll learn it and switch over to it.

As far as my friend's S8 Standard, he is still getting everything setup. I walked him through wiring up the backup camera to be able to monitor full time besides just in reverse. He has Forscan working, but still not Torque. I recently installed the steering wheel remote which worked right off the bat for me, but his is not. Not sure why as I believe it is compatible with his model. He is exchanging for a new one to try. He says he likes the unit so far, but just needs to get the setup bugs all out of the way.

Wait a minute now, I didn't know you could adjust the speedometer with forescan. How do you go about doing that? With my new wheels and tires my speedometer is off by 3-5 mph.

Well, there goes your excuse for being late for work!

I've been lucky with my speedometers. A few years back I adjusted one (on the back of the cluster). And no, I don't recommend doing that unless it's really bad or if you have a bunch of light bulbs out.

Hopefully someone will chime in soon and walk you thru it. I know it can be done with Auto Enginuity, but I haven't needed to do that yet.

Okay so, I've been experimenting with the wireless Bluetooth controls for the atato. And I think I found my favorite spot thus far. I've come to hate having it on the steering wheel due to it protruding out and not being a flush mount, when I go to back up and I turn my head back and I just kind of roll my hand on the top of the steering wheel I knock it off all the time. One time I knocked it off and it flew out the window and my wheel came within a couple inches of running it over. I mounted it just below my shift ****. I can kind of reach down with my ring finger and control everything and so far I really like it. It's out of the way and it's very comfortable. Here's a couple of pictures.

Tristan, there are at least 2 links for adjusting the speedometer in the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder. I believe one is a write-up and the other is a video. You will need the laptop version though, not FSL. Unless something has changed.

Looks like you acquired anew shifter handle.

I guess due to all the torque coming up to the shifter handle, the old shift **** fell off After it came off a few too many times I got tired of it and bought the only thing I could find at the parts store that was worth a toot. It was either that revolver or a rainbow colored skull. I checked all of the parts stores around me. So I went with that one, I don't think it looks bad.

I guess it's time for me to go to the PSD tech folder! Thanks!

Edit: on another note, as you might can tell from the picture, my shifter itself has all of the coating chipping off of it. I'm thinking about powder coating it when I get my powder coating setup. What are our shifters made out of underneath that thick coating?

One should have hands on the steering wheel at 9 & 3 while driving.

You may end up with an unexpected tattoo holding the steering wheel at 12 o'clock.

Not sure what metal they are, but I sanded and painted mine 8 or so years ago when I put the T shaped Hurst style handle on it.

Powder should do well as long as the prep work is done right. I powder coated a lot of random parts when I had a motorcycle during my first life.

I’m about to order a S8 Premium and an OBDLink EX but I figured I should consult the guys first. Only thing I’m wondering about is the radio harness. I was going to order a Metra 70-1771 but then I read on this thread that 02+ has a different harness. You fellers know what harness adapter I need for my 03?

When I have questions or concerns about stereo (automotive or home) and home audio equipment, I often refer to Crutchfield. They have been a good source for knowledge for me for probably close to two decades.

According the Crutchfield, the Metra 70-1771 is the proper harness adapter for your 2003 truck. I searched "harness adapter" and then inserted 2003 F-250 Super Duty. As you can see from the image below, they claim it is correct for 1998 - 2011 vehicles. Worst case scenario is you order it from Amazon or another online company that has a wide coverage return policy and you return it if it isn't right.

I hope this helps!

Out of curiosity......
What are your (everyone following) thoughts on the Atoto P8 portable deal? It seems to have a good lineup of options. I'm not crazy about connecting to the cigarette lighter though. I'd be looking into hard wiring it in.

When the double din touchscreen that came with my truck crapped out many years ago I opted to not install another. Instead I fabricated a cubby box with some felt and fit it into the original stereo compartment. For music I connect my phone via Bluetooth to the external EQ to stream my music to the amplifiers.

Anyway I want in on the Atoto band wagon but I'm not too keen on changing the setup in my truck. Thoughts?

Unless you specifically need the dual bluetooth receivers that ATOTO offers, there are many, many choices out there for an Android head unit. Since you will be hardwiring the P8 anyway, you may be able to broaden your options by looking at something that has a similar form factor, but is designed to be hardwired. Although, simply without looking at the P8 too closely, I am not sure how it would connect to the truck speakers, or if that is a concern of yours.

If you are looking for a display that you can affix to the dash, there are folding, retractable and hiding options. I selected the ATOTO A6 Pro because it has dual bluetooth receivers and I was originally planning to use one paired to my phone and the other paired to the OBDLink scan tool. I went with a USB solution from OBDLink and there is/was no need for the dual bluetooth receivers. I may have selected another product if I had known I was going to use a USB scan tool, but I have no regrets and am 100% happy with the ATOTO A6 Pro after ~10,000 miles of using live Google maps and occasionally FORScan Lite.
