On my f250 my 10 inch android radio came with some metal brackets that bolted to it. I just put those brackets on the head unit then put head unit in place and then bent the brackets around the back side of the bezel so it holds it in tight to the bezel. Haven't ever had a single issue with it moving.
If it's any consolation @kbeefy , I spoke to somebody at Metra before buying these who acted like I was an idiot for even asking if they would work on the head unit I described...
I haven't had much time to mess with the head unit itself, but it seems pretty sweet. It's way faster and more responsive than I had hoped. I'm not getting wireless Android Auto, so I'm hoping a firmware update will fix that. But between the ATOTO and the Edge CTS3, the van is starting to look a little high tech now!
I'm not sure if it's consolation, but it does help reaffirm that I'm at least a little smarter than someone in china. I will concede that they have much more dexterious fingers than me. I will probably spend at least one extra day in hell for racism for that remark.... oh well.
I have been very happy with both my Android based ATOTO and my Linex Based ATOTO. After doing a 3000 mile trip in my fathers 2013 F150 King Ranch, I can say both of my ATOTO put it to shame. (They are both way newer than it, so it's not fair to compare my 23 and 45 year old vehicles, but it's kinda fun anyways.)

My newer one defaults to Android Auto, wirelessly. I have previously professed to hating it, but on a 10" screen I don't hate it near as much.
On my older model I hotspot my data to it and also Bluetooth my audio to it... it is cumbersome. Android Auto keeps me from having to initiate a hotspot from my phone.

If your handy with tech they make a app for android called Tasker you can set it up where when your phone connects the the Bluetooth of that head unit it will automatically turn hot spot on and then turn it back off when it disconnects and make it seamless. It's not a real user friendly app though so got to have a little know how or follow along on a video that shows you how to do it.

Thanks! I used to have something similar that turned my wifi on and off when I got home. I'll look into it.
Can someone with the Atoto A6 Pro tell me what the default Android Auto app is? Or if you are using a different app, which one?
Back when I installed the Atoto there were compatibility issues with my phone. App got annoying wanting to connect to my phone every time when it wouldn't work, so I removed the app. Since then I have figured out that the issue was with my phone because it was having issues with other Android Auto radios, including factory installed units. The Atoto was the only AA capable radio I owned so I didn't worry about it and used hotspotting. Since then the software issue on my phone has been fixed and this year I installed an Alpine with AA in my Ranger, for a lot of my use I much prefer the way that AA works over hotspotting. I want to give AA another try on the Atoto, but the original app is long gone.
to those of you, who have fancy Panel type radios,
do you try to hide them when parking in a public area?
I just bought a 10 Android panel radio, and thinking that thing might be very temping to street druggies
As inexpensive and rapidly outdated as these new headunits are, I don’t think they are targeted like stereos once were. If it was an iPad or something potentially more valuable I could see a junkie (risking his life) trying to steal it, but the street value of an ‘off brand’ car stereo without all the components (GPS/wifi antenna, reverse camera, etc) is probably less than your spare tire.
The tweakers and fentanyl smokers are more like rats. They are just poking around in the night looking for easy pickings. Loose items in your carport, shed or bed of the truck. The more industrious ones are stealing jacks and battery operated tools so they can cut catalytic converters off and harvest copper wire and pipes from buildings.
On that topic, if you have a Ducks Unlimited, hunt club, GLOCK, some stupid AR15 sticker, etc on your truck - the ‘rats’ are far more likely to smash your window looking for guns, mags, ammo and other gear.
No problems with theft or parking in sketchy places.
As for the ATOTO native Android Auto application, I don't think there was one. There might have been, but I don't recall seeing it and I definitely wouldn't use it. I despise Android Auto so much that I don't use it in the Ford vehicle that came with it from the factory. Perhaps you can go to the ATOTO website and see what applications the A6 Pro came loaded with by default.
well, the XTRONS tablet radio is not installed yet.
it won't be used as a carphone, it will be used to show me a map mostly, using the cellphone as a WiFi hotspot.
I might, let it hook up to Bluetooth and let it answer the phone call, or not.
the truck is so damn noisy, that the experience for the other end won't be pleasant.

That's what I use mine for. Works great. Use hotspot off my phone also. Mine even had youtube and my cable TV app on it if I decided to watch some cable TV. 😂 Not driving of course.
