Thanks everyone for convincing me to spend more money.. I pulled the trigger on an Atoto HU today, but because I don't drive my truck all too often and wanted it to be simple and trouble free for when my wife drives I went for a Linux version: sa102.
It checks all the boxes that I needed checked without having pulling too much out of my wallet and away from other parts I want. I'm excited to replace the current double din POS that's in my truck right now, and take advantage the info gained here.
There is one question I have regarding install and you'll have to excuse me if it's already been covered, but I couldn't find where it has. In my truck the windows stay active after shutting the truck off and removing the key, until a door is opened. I think this is called accessory delay, I would love for my HU to do the same.
Has anyone here installed their HU to do the same and knows which wire I need to tap into or use? I assume I would just need to find whatever wire it is that stays hot in the desired circumstances and use it as the 12v acc wire? Or would a relay setup be needed?
I could go with the one that SSJ listed instead and tie it into the ATOTO outputs instead of splicing into the factory wiring. I just knew I was going to have empty rocker switch ports on my F650 dash and was looking for filler ideas (besides blank-offs).
That's the exact same mount that I have installed in my F650 lower dash, I just cut a square hole in the left hand side of the panel as I don’t have any spare space to the right where I have 3 switches & the Hydra mounted. I added a bit of epoxy glue behind as I didn't feel it was very solid with just the built-in clips....
I just got mine installed the other day and got my steering wheel controls to work on my 2005. Hook up the Orange/Black Steering Wheel Key (+) wire to the Blue/Red wire in Pin 18 on the factory harness. Then, go into Settings and then Default Settings, then Steering Wheel Controls (these names may be slightly different, I don't have the manual or radio in front of me). Then, make sure to press the RESET button, it will not program unless you press the reset button. Then click the button in the radio you want to program, such as volume up, it will flash, then click the volume up button on the steering wheel. The icon on the screen will stop flashing and have a little corner marker on the icon. Repeat for all other buttons. Worked like a charm on mine.
Thank you. I did as you instructed. (Does the blue steering wheel key need to go anywhere, like ground?) I got to the attached photo and then another screen saying to press and hold the steering wheel button. It stopped there with no success. What reset button do you refer to? Thanks.

I have the Pro A6 and my screen looks different. Did you try the clear all button on the bottom right? You also have to hit save and exit before they will work.
I did not hook up the other steering wheel #(+) wire. I just hooked up the orange/black one.

Mine still operates that way, HU stays on until the door is open. I think that circuitry is built in to the radio harness.

several times on the clear all. I did try the save and exit. Freezes on the press and hold steering wheel button to program. Thanks for trying to help.

On mine it was just a short press, not a press and hold. Not sure if that matters. What truck do you have? I’ve read elsewhere that both wires work the same, maybe try hooking up the other one?
Do you know on the ATOTO units that if you have the external mic plugged in, does that take over the built-in mic or do you have to select it in the unit some way to use the external? Or are both microphones working at the same time?

I believe the external microphone takes control, but I don't know that for sure. I put my external microphone up in the top left of the cab at the top of the A pillar trim. It seems to work quite well there, even with the window mostly down.
Are you thinking of doing some testing of the microphones or did you have a direct concern about the capabilities of the microphones?

SOUS, I had already installed the included ATOTO microphone on my A-pillar. I ran it up the pillar but then clipped it on the door seal next to the pillar. Wasn't a huge fan (as I know you made a custom clip to work). I pulled the clip off the wife's car and tested it on my pillar. Works 1000 times better. So I ordered the same style for my truck. They are cheap on Amazon from like $10-$15.

Pic or link? I'm not wild about the way I have mine mounted.

Mark,
This is the link to the one I purchased on Amazon since I didn't like the aligator clip style for my truck. Pictures posted below of the ATOTO one installed on my A-Pillar (actually, wire run through A-pillar and clipped on the door seal next to my A-Pillar). It is mostly clean, but I wasn't huge fan of the clip. So I tested the style of clip that my wife has in her car (also pictured). It clips nicely on my A-pillar and looks much better IMO. Just waiting to receive the new microphone.
Other picture is of my dash all torn apart. ATOTO is mostly done, but I'm installing an auxiliary fuel controller, fuel gauge, AirLift airbag controller, and F650 manual dash (pictues to come when finished). I'm also trying to tidy up some of mine and my friend's old work from installing tow mirrors and gauges. We were working on his and my truck at the time. So I think we did some things the speedy way and not the best way (like too many tap-in splices). I hate those things. So I'm trying to remove those wire taps and switch to spade connections where possible to tidy it up.
Based on some of the questions I had on here, I'm looking for some opinions regarding add-ons to my F650 dash. Appreciate any feedback anyone could give here at the bottom of this thread......https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post20350904
Since I have my dash apart doing all of the upgrades, I was wondering if doing the gauge cluster bulbs now would be a good option. I know some of you have done your lighting, but I couldn't find it. I did a search in the tech folder, but only thing I saw was an involved modification to change the colors. I'm looking for a plug n' play option (not sure if led is plug-n'-play). If anybody can direct me to any thread locations that stated what products they used, how-to's, and costs, would be appreciated.....
