I ordered my atoto wireless steering wheel controls yesterday and they are supposed to be here tomorrow. Turns out there are two different ones. The one that I ordered is the one for most of the atato head units aside from 2 or 3 specific units and then the other one is for other head units besides atoto along with those two or three the other one doesn't cover.
The AC-44F5 covers most of the Atoto units but not the A6 PF (performance) and the s8 lite.
The AC-44F8 covers those two units and can be used with some other aftermarket units.
I'm excited to see how well the AC-44F5 works with my A6 pro. I wasn't sure if any of this information had been covered on this form or not, so I figured I would post the difference between the two models. And here's a link to Amazon where you can buy either of the two.
ATOTO AC-44F5 Watchband Style Wireless Remote Control with Luminous Buttons, Plug & Play - Only for ATOTO Car Stereos (SA102, A6Y, A6 KL, F7 & S8), Not Compatible with ATOTO A6 PF/ S8 Lite Version https://a.co/d/0t9fgvI

Lead the way, Tristian!
I'll need a stereo for my F450 project and I used steering wheel controls on work vans for many years - loved them!!!
I got my steering wheel controls put in! It was super easy. Now that I have my atato mounted inside the dash instead of on the dash bezel, it was super easy to pull the dash off and pull the radio out and install my mic and my wireless controls. They work pretty well. I no longer have to reach all the way over to my radio when I'm driving down the road. I made a little video to show it off a little bit. I think for $30, it is well worth it if you want steering wheel controls. In my case, with the lariat seats in my XL truck, it sits a little lower than the bench seat does and I can sit further back. Thus making it harder to reach my radio. I also can't lean my seats forward to get behind the seats anymore but it's worth it for having power adjusted bucket seats with a center console.
I haven't decided yet if I want to use the strap or use the peel and stick and mount it onto the wheel itself out of the way of the outer perimeter. Not sure yet.
@Tpayne621 It looks like you've got quite a few interesting interior mods installed in your truck.
How about creating a build thread, to walk us back down your memory's lane, detailing all the different things you've changed or added to your interior?
I'm seeing updated and painted I/P bezel, updated lower dash, upfitter switches, 6-position TS style switch, digital volt meter, and one heckuva BAAS (Big Azz Android Screen).
Your 10+ inch BAAS installation is deserving of further discussion as well. That's an AFG magnet.
Your attention to detail is self-evident, given how clean and tidy all of your updates appear... like the P3 tucked into the pocket.
A belated Welcome to FTE!
It's a 2000 model. Stock main dash. The bezel/ip surround is a 05-07 had to trim main dash some to get it to fit. 05 lower dash with upfitter switches and prodigy brake controller stuffed in little cubby hole. The volt meter is a dual 3 amp USB plug with volt gauge built into it. Just put it in stock power outlet hole in dash.
If anybody wants to see anything in particular I can get pics or more info on it.
I just thought I'd give an update on the Atoto wireless steering wheel controls. They work pretty well and I haven't had any problems with them. The little strap that straps it to the steering wheel did not work out. I ended up turning the steering wheel and bumping that strap and the wireless controls flew out the window and I almost ran them over. I got some 3M 40 lb mounting tape and stuck it just to the side of the horn. It's much better like this. The only issue I've had is really minor and that is that when you first crank the truck the steering wheel controls don't work 100% until it's connected good I guess. Just takes a couple of seconds after you crank the truck for it to get fully connected I guess. Just like three or four seconds and everything's fine after that. It is nice to have. Although they do look kind of weird being as it's just stuck to the outer side of the steering wheel. I thought about sticking it to the side of my center console where I always rest my arm. Then the steering wheel would still look clean and I could still get to my controls easily. I'll figure it out.
Sorry if I've missed it in the 51 pages. I was thinking of using the TPMS system that ATOTO has, but after looking at it I see that their setup uses a USB connection. I'm using the only USB port on the back of my ATOTO A6 PRO (A6Y2721PRB) for the OBD Link EX connection. Is anybody using the TPMS from ATOTO? If so, am I correct on needing that single USB port? Can you run a USB splitter to the single port on the back of the radio and have each USB device work (OBD Link EX and TPMS)?
Shane, the A6 Pro does only have one rear USB port, but it also has a proprietary connector that has two USB ports on it. Looking at the image below, which is of the A6 Pro back panel. The orange arrow points to the USB port. This is the port where I have my OBDLink SX plugged into. The red arrow points to the proprietary connector which leads to the end where the yellow arrow is. In those two USB ports is where I have my 3 coil wireless charger and dash camera plugged into.
I see no reason why you couldn't have a USB accessory plugged into any of the 3 ports. The connector with the 2 USB ports is a similar style as to what I have seen in PC internals when looking at the USB connections.

I didn't think about those ports. I have them connected to a USB port in my glove box. I can see if the TPMS would work from one of those. Wondered if a USB splitter would work in the same connection port we have our OBDLinks connected too? I had to remove my dash panel to take care of something else. So thought I might add the steering wheel remote while I have it off. Got me thinking of the TPMS and either running them on my truck or 5th wheel.
Just pulled up on their website. They almost show it connected to those off shoot usb's. Even have it in the glove box. Guess I could plug it into the ports I already have running to my glove box. https://www.myatoto.com/index.php?m=...catid=55&id=53
Talked my buddy out of state into getting ATOTO head unit. He went with the S8 Standard version. He is trying to get his OBDLINK EX adapter to talk to Torque app (app he is used to like me). His radio only has the 2 usb extension cables off the back. Not the fixed one like I'm connected to on back of my A6 Pro. His isn't talking despite changing to usb in the Torque app. Any S8 guys out there deal with this and have any ideas?
I had him load Forscan Lite. He says it is working, but the Torque app isn't working. It must me something with one of the Torque settings. He said he switched it to usb, but must be something else hanging up...
