I know some people are into that masochist self mutulation stuff, I'm not one to judge, but... If you're gonna do it, why choose Nissan?

According the Crutchfield, the Metra 70-1771 is the proper harness adapter for your 2003 truck. I searched "harness adapter" and then inserted 2003 F-250 Super Duty. As you can see from the image below, they claim it is correct for 1998 - 2011 vehicles. Worst case scenario is you order it from Amazon or another online company that has a wide coverage return policy and you return it if it isn't right.
I hope this helps!

Also appreciate everyone’s hard work on these Atoto setups! There’s a lot of knowledge packed into this thread
Yep, that's probably the one that you need, atleast it's the one I got for my 2000 F-250 as well. I just ordered two off Amazon this week for potential future installs in Rangers, IIRC they were around $7 each with prime shipping. Return window with Amazon good through January 31st (through prime at least) incase it's not the right one.
Out of curiosity......
What are your (everyone following) thoughts on the Atoto P8 portable deal? It seems to have a good lineup of options. I'm not crazy about connecting to the cigarette lighter though. I'd be looking into hard wiring it in.
When the double din touchscreen that came with my truck crapped out many years ago I opted to not install another. Instead I fabricated a cubby box with some felt and fit it into the original stereo compartment. For music I connect my phone via Bluetooth to the external EQ to stream my music to the amplifiers.
Anyway I want in on the Atoto band wagon but I'm not too keen on changing the setup in my truck. Thoughts?
I've been checking out that unit and other dash tops units like it. I have two applications where a Double Din radio won't fit, and I've considered installing a bluetooth headunit or amplifier and having one of these that I can swap between them.
In the 85 Ranger I'd probably do a cheap bluetooth capable cd player, something retro style, or have an original modified to include bluetooth. For the 68 F-100 it would probably be a bluetooth amp to drive the speakers and use the factory radio location for a switch plate. Then use my cellphone for music when regular driving and one of those dashtop unit for backup camera and when I want navigation stuff.
If you decide to use one please keep up posted on how it works for you.
I've read through this off and on for a while now. Thank you for all of the information contained in this thread. I finally ordered the Atoto F7 XE to replace my older Pioneer that started having issues with cold weather. A little more trimming to fit compared to the pioneer and I mounted it the SSJ way. Seems to work well so far except for the bluetooth android auto connection. That is a bit glitchy, it dropped 3 times on a 15 minute drive yesterday. I have to say, I am pretty unimpressed with the sound though. Seems to be lacking in the low end. The old pioneer had much better sound quality in my opinion.

The F7 is definitely a lower quality unit as the price would suggest. That said, it is not an ‘Android device’ and does not have the ability to download or run apps like the other models that have been discussed in this thread.
Now that my buddy has been running the F7 for a couple months, I’ll ask him for a review. Since he already does everything on his iPhone, I figured just being able to screen mirror Pandora, Google Maps, YouTube, etc would be adequate for him. He is not an ‘audiophile’ by any means and has no experience with any other music in this truck - so his opinion is not a good measure of sound quality.

Correct and I knew that going in. I didn't feel the need to be able to download or run other apps and figured android auto would fit the bill for me as I usually just stream pandora. I'm also not an audiophile but figured with them advertising it at 49 watts x 4 channels that it would be decent. I don't know much about sound systems but the older pioneer listed 14 watts x 4 channels and sounded much better. I don't have an amp or a sub and only replaced the nearly 20 year old factory speakers in 2020 with some 6x8 rockford fosgate.
It was not too long ago that Pioneer was known as one of the best sound producing audio companies. I would in no way, shape or form compare any ATOTO or somewhat cheap head unit to Pioneer, Alpine, etc or any of the big names in audio equipment.
In my opinion, audio equipment is one of the places you often get what you pay for. This is amplified (pun intended) when looking at home theater or stereo equipment.
Regarding the BT disconnect issue... Have you tried to see if there is a firmware update available or if there is a fix action out there in the interwebs?

You definitely get what you pay for but that pioneer wasn't too expensive if I remember correctly. I wouldn't have replaced it if the cold weather issue hadn't started. Research suggested it was a memory chip and resister issue as they didn't use automotive grade parts for that unit. It just took mine a few years to develop a problem.
I've emailed atoto and will see what they say since I don't see an update for my specific unit listed. The USB android auto connection seems to work as it should and is a pretty nice feature to have in a nearly 20 year old truck.
Hi guys, new to the forums here. I honestly haven't read all of this voluminous thread, but wondered if anyone was contemplating mounting a 10 inch android stereo to their Super Duty? I just ordered one for my truck. I previously have installed one in my Subaru Impreza and love it. It does stick out an inch from the dash, but looks pretty good, plus there's more real estate to create a large gauge cluster with Torque Pro, which is my main reason for ordering one. I painted the brackets black so from the side view of the unit, it looks fine. I'm going to have to fab some brackets for the factory stereo opening to accommodate the new unit, but I don't think I'll have too much trouble, hopefully.

I swapped the F7 for the S8 standard at the suggestion of tech support. The S8 is way more complex and has so much more to it than I will likely ever use. I've had it in since yesterday and so far I'm liking the sound quality a whole lot more than the F7.
It looks good! Can I hit you up on how you mounted it? I can DM you.
Thanks!
Jeff
I'll have to look and see if I have any pics of how I mounted it. You kind of just have to wing it and make some stuff work lol I used the metal brackets it comes with. Drilled some holes and bolted them to it then kind of bent them around the inside of the dash bezel to hold it tight.

Thats kinda how i thought it would go. Im comfortable with winging it, but if you so have any pics, i would appreciate the share.
Can someone clarify what the upgrade path is from the now discontinued Atoto A6? Especially if we want to use the head unit for internet connectivity in addition to having a strong Android head unit.
