OK, so maybe I should wake up! I thought it looked like you were painting the truck Red? Not this nice blue! People could bleed this color! lol So that was red primer? Duh!
Red paint was Fuzzface2 pics of his. He suggested to hang from rafters to get both sides (his is red).
I really do like the color. It changes based on light angles. Looking forward to seeing it in direct sunlight!
That’s going to look nice on that truck. Sharp blue. Lots of work! But coming along nicely imho.
Personally, I kinda like the dents etc in a truck of that vintage. Shows some history to it. It keeps its character. And, makes it still useable, you won’t be afraid to use it. I had a pristine truck once years ago, on display in a museum in the winter, and rarely drove it in the summer for fear of denting or scratching it. Beauty of a truck, but kind of useless if you know what I mean.

Looking good.
Thank you for the encouragement! I agree except there are several panels that need to be very straight or it will drive me crazy! The hood and drivers front need to be nice (what I see when I get in as well as during the drive) but the bed can have “history” on display. I plan to actually use this truck and not “baby” it by hauling rock, sand, wood, pull trailers, and any regular truck activity.

Amen brother! The truck should be enjoyed, not just fussed with! Stable, solid and dependable, that is what I look for. Well, of course it goes without saying, it must be a Ford!
Que the triumphant music!
I have my cam in hand and can start my engine build! The last unknown is pushrod length which I hope is stock but I will have to measure the valvetrain geometry to verify.
Bottom end together tonight. All tolerances are good!
I need to weld the pickup tube support strap back together tomorrow.
The competition hone job I put on the cylinders add plenty of resistance at this point! Its getting stiff but not unreasonable.
pics from today
I’m wondering if I will have build remorse (postpartum depression) when I get this truck together. Its a fun build! Nah, I will be driving its wheels off...
You are making gains quickly!! It took me alot longer when I was working on mine. In the body/paint stage now. When I save up enough hopefully. Trying to get my boy’s 1960 SWB drivable by fall. Putting in a 272 with 113 heads with ram horns. Should run nicely. Looking forward to your next project!
