a uniform primer color will make a more uniform basecoat color and similar film thickness for full hide/color saturation.

Of course it depends on color and how much sandable primer you like to use but my materials were just over $1000 but I got some extra to hedge my bet! 6qt of color, 1 gallon primer, 6qt clear with reducers, hardeners, and gun cleaner.

Well, that is indeed a bunch. Thanks for the run down. The wife would really like me to do the '66 but I keep putting it off and it keeps needing it more!

Its a ton cheaper than a new truck! They are nearing six figures these days! Really hard to justify....

Ain't that the truth. And they are paper thin and loaded down with stuff I don't want or need. Getting tough to find a single cab also!

Do it sooner than later! Lots of reasons but the materials aren’t going down in price and you can slow the deterioration of that truck. Looking nice is a bonus. Oh yes and “Happy wife, happy life!”

John these coats gives me two on thin areas and three on the others. Here it is dry, wet sanding is next.

I figure if I take you through my first piece stem to stern then its rinse and repeat for all panels. You still tuned in JohnNewb?

You bet. Thanks. Maybe my next project will look good up close instead of from across the yard.

The farther away the better it looks.
