The fender to cab is pretty easy. Lots of PB Blaster rust penetrant first. Those six nuts, two radiator support bolts, and the inner fender to firewall straps, and two nuts on fenders and front clip comes off as a unit. Easier to access all those bolts holding fenders, grille, valance, radiator support off truck.
how heavy is the front clip when removed like you described?
I’ve leaned welding holes is hard because of my lack of patience. Of course I burned through on half of them! More practice to come. Both bolts holding the hinge on broke instead of coming loose... same thing I feel will happen on the fender bolts but limited access (PITA). Who can give me pointers so its easier?!?

does it require a hoist or machinery? Bulky?
thanks
I muscled my old one off but wasn't worried about scratches. I used my engine hoist to install the painted replacement. Two strong men could easily lift it. The radiator support is the only heavy part. The rest is just awkward. I left my front wheels on but would remove them if I did it again.
Laying under my truck this morning, looking at all the new, shiny bolts, the fenders would come off fairly easy if you could get it really clean first. My donor cab looked to have come from an asphalt or oil company. I had to chip a lot of oil and gravel to find the bolts.

looking at the shop manual makes me think there are 25 attachments.
3 door pillar
7 top along inner fender
4 lower valence
11 around light/grill
Is this accurate? I don’t seem to find them all plus wish I had some easy way to nip them off.
Inner fender has 8 including bottom back corner. Outer fender has two at angle bracket at rear, 16 in front not counting four of the inner fender bolts already counted. Your grille is different so you may have more.

These pics helped! I was unbolting too far around the light bucket!
Here are some pics of progress on my fanwall for my paint booth. My cam is still MIA! I would like to use the mobility for the painting process as well as less likely to mess up the new paint during installation.
How will you get the bugs to land on the paint just before it dries?
Honestly the bugs ALWAYS find a way. My regular Autobody guy just shook his head when I asked how to keep the bugs out of my paint and said “they find a way” even in his spendy paint booth! Just figure it gives character... remember my build is not museum restore but a real truck I plan to use until they pull the keys from my cold dead hand.
