Good evening everyone
The question about the cables. I spent some time in Kodiak AK. back in my early military days. I also worked down town as a mechanic on vehicles and Polaris 4 wheeler's when we had sticky cables we filled a non-aerosol sprayer with some kind of penetrating oil and connected it to the lines with a short piece of hose and hose clamps. Northern Tool has them (19419) for $27.99 just have to take the fitting off and adapt it to go on the cable. According to their add you can put 80-150 PSI in them ( I never went that high). Granted this works best with a cable that has the plastic shield around it unlike most of these trucks.

Somehow I missed the question. What was it you are asking? I use liquid wrench penetrant chased with lubricating oil.
My machinist is back to work so he says my project is next and should be done this week. I enjoy building engines a lot if you take the monetary pain out of the equation! The first roar of the new power plant is exhilarating! Not to mention I need to set it in place to finalize the conversion specific mounts/brackets.
so i have a 1960 custom cab long bed that i'm bringing up to modern standards - just let me know what parts your looking for - i need to clean this garage out - youll get then at cost
Im thinking about a light bar/headache rack for my 1960 F250. Have any of you seen or own a neat one? Do they look nice with this vintage? Pics would be helpful!

the only additional lighting ive seen on these trucks that didnt look out of place was some high output led lights added behind the grill - they were concealed and mainly out of view during the day.
Cleaning 60 year old parts not much fun. I have been soaking small parts in kerosene in my parts washer. They come out pretty nasty looking. Full strength ZEP purple degreaser shines up the steel parts pretty nicely. Or soaked in a strong mixture of it with water. Outside, hard to beat EZ Off heavy duty oven cleaner.

Your not wrong. This is the part I dislike most! Debris field Making progress but slow Triple shot 100 proof to ease the pain in my @ss Timing chain cover next (why is it always caked/baked on!?!?)

My engine looked like it had never been opened. I'll let you know in another sixty years if it is cleaner with our modern oils.
I’ve been known to pull a motor that leaks and put a gasket set on to seal it up. I guess its a pet peeve. I do understand normal Driver “X” Can’t afford to have that done nor cares, just add half quart per oil change no big deal...
