I am starting a new project. I got this F250 from my dad about 15 years ago and have stored it in a shed. It feels like now is the time to get going on it! These pics are of picking it up and hauling it to my shop. Its growing a skin! only the passengers front wheel was locked up and had to back the break pads off NO BRAKES is sketchy The trailer winch was a treasure on this load since the truck doesnt run yet
They are a trailer load for sure. Helped a friend load his '53. Thought we would need vaseline to get it between his side rails. Winch was first thing I bought for my trailer.
That looks pretty straight. Are you staying original motor? Mice sure made a lot of trips. Darn their little hides.
Unfortunately my dad removed the 292, transmission and bellhousing and has since moved (this means discarding heavy items) and I am out of 292's. My dad started a 302 conversion that I plan to finish but with a barely streetable one. The motor will have 289 heads which calculated to 11:1 compression, oversized stainless valves, hardened valve seats, dynamic balance, 230/230 @ 0.05 lift 110 separation high energy cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 11" 1974 F100 clutch and transmission, duraspark ignition, and a new aluminum radiator. I do wish I had the old 292 and all of its attachments though!
I am thinking of putting this PTO unit on my project but haven't ever seen how they operate or attach. I did some research and figured out quickly the water is deep on the PTO end of things! Any one have pictures of their PTO and how it is used? I could use help with identification.... Pictures of spicer lever action single speed look similar but I am not sure. Anyone with ideas please chime in!
You can always put a board across the frame for a seat. For the battery box, I just sand blast and get rid of the corrosion then paint several coats. I have put thin rubber mat under them before. I also try to keep the battery in good shape and put grease on the terminals to keep them clean to prevent problems.
