Poly needs the outer sleeve as it only comes with the inner. So I can drill/cut/torch out the inner and rubber but have to keep the outer sleeve pristine. My onlyquestion is about the need to support the frame or anywhere else or can I do it just sitting on the ground. Someone in the 61-66 said they supported the frame but I don't know if that is needed.
Well if you aren't sure and it'a a safety issue, it's probably best to err on the safe side. Sorry I'm drawing a blank on the bushing you are asking about. I haven't worked on much stuff that old. Most of my experience is Mercedes and newer.
What's up fellers!
Seen the race has been cancelled due to weather. We're going through that here too. It's rained for most of the week, and a break in the wet stuff tomorrow, and I'm taking advantage of it.
I'm going out to a fellow FTE'rs place in the morning and snagging the new dash, gauges, and pad to replace the dash that's in Ka'Bluey that has all of the signatures on it. Rich also has a pair of the 37" Humvee tires that are suppose to be in pretty good shape, and I'm hoping to bring them home as well.
This next weekend of the 18th of Aug is a huge car, and truck swap meet. I'm hoping to snag some new stuff out there too.
Hope y'all are doing well.
Marty, Josh, drink one for me when you two get together tomorrow.
Got after it this morning, cut the old down pipe out in 4 pieces to make it easy, new one went on, it was a little tight but didn't have to clearance the firewall like everyone said I would. Actually yime workimg on it was maybe hour and 15 minutes.

The one I put in came with a new different outer sleeve, the spring bushing I put in did not use an outer sleeve.
Alright transmission question time since I'm having issues with Mrs. Blue...
I put a transgo shift kit in the transmission before putting it in the truck, it also has a small stall. At half throttle you can manually shift 1-2-3 with no issue at all. Under full throttle when you shift to second it won't **** into second until you push the shifter into third. Then it'll go to second and spin the tires when it grabs second in dirt. This is all in 4lo, I was gonna switch to 2hi and try it but it's raining and I don't feel like crawling under it to change it.
I don't have a vacuum line currently hooked to the transmission because I have the same shiftkit in Blue and no vacuum line on it either and it works fine.
Everyone keeps saying too hook up a vacuum line, I just can't wrap my head around it needing one since the one in Ol blue doesn't with the same shift kit. I'm gonna pickup vacuum line tomorrow for ****s and giggles to try it.

Y'all behave
We Did behave as we always do.
Hope you and yours are getting along OK. Sounds like you're a little busy.
Is there a cable on the manual shifter. How's it connected to the C-6?
Yes cable operated. It's got a bracket that bolts to the pan that the cable passes through, that's your adjustment bracket. Then another bracket/arm that connects to the shifter **** that sticks out if the trans. Then the cable connectsto that to shift the trans. That's all set right, I've checked, re checked and triple checked it in every gear.

No, it's one i got from a NCFTE member, we pulled it out of a parts Bronco he had. Once it goes to second it pulls good, same in third. Either something is off in the Valve body, or something simple I'm over looking.
I had intentions of picking up vacuum lime today but the ranger fuel pump went out i think so didn't get a chance too.

Check and recheck all the simple stuff. I agree with the valve body, if it eventually shifts in to second, doesn't sound like it's in the planetaries.
Even been a slack *** bum since the beach trip. I've got one more coat to shoot on the 350, but just haven't gotten around to it. Just been doing a little bit of maintainence on the Jeep and Lucille, oh and getting that free golf cart up and running. I didn't even get that thing home before I had two standing offers on it.
I've got two other projects to pick up here shortly. A free riding mower that I want to put on some Jeep wheels I have laying around, and an 06 Honda civic hatchback which needs some body love, but runs\shifts perfect.
Swung by AutoZone to grab some vacuum line finally, also tried to pickup a fuel pump for the ranger, but they list 2 different ones for it, and I won't know which it is until I get the old one out. Also got them to order me a T55 bit to pull the bed in the ranger with.
Got my 2 new tires mounted on my trailer wheels today, and just got them on the trailer. Now just need to crawl under Mrs Blue and put this vacuum line on... But it just finished raining.

That's what I'm thinking. It'll just be a novelty toy.. but free mower.. wheels are laying around have have tires on them.. so.. why not...
Yeah, I'm not a fan of crawling in the dirt, particularly after a storm either... Perhaps it'll dry out quick in this heat.
Instead of crawling in the dirt I decided to lift the bed on the ranger. 5 if 6 bed bolts came out okay.... the 6th one broke in half. But ohwell... Fuel pump is out, and I picked up the new one gonna put that in tomorrow.
