Ranger got a new clutch kit this morning.
Disk not into rivets yet after 150,000 mi.
Two fingers missing on pressure plate and the throw out bearing was leaking again.
New flywheel, also.
Replaced my transmission output shaft seal yesterday. The actual seal and garter spring had completely separated from the metal, which would explain why it dripped like a leaky faucet and drained the whole tranny in 24 hours. Haven't filled it back up yet but hoping I did a good job. Driveshaft was a PITA.
I've cussed, bitched and threatened to burn the mother..... to the ground atleast 3 times today.
picked up a new driver side caliper yesterday since the old one the bleeder was froze in and snapped off. So put that on this morning, went to bleed it and im not getting any fluid to it. So i start calling around a new hose and no one has one in stock. So then I turned around and realize the radiator is leaking.
This damn thing is gonna fight me right up to the damn last minute.
Papa Matt, I hope your little helper actually helps. Sometimes my little helpers make things more, lets say interesting when they "help." Like the time I raked all the leaves from the yard and they promptly raked them right back into the yard. Good times.
She made me a bit nervous as she was banging with a hammer in the bed while I was under there, and the bed is an old piece of plywood with several species of fungi growing on its underside. But yes, often those little helpers are not so helpful
Figured out my heater core issue was a defective radiator cap and crappy aftermarket cores, go figure. Built a core tester via the Ford manual to verify it.
Got a couple projects for this week before the race Saturday...
Clean/oil/adjust the shifter in Ol' Blue
Swap a tire on the trailer
More adjusting/possibly a squirter swap on the carb for Mrs Blue to try to fix the off idle stumble.

I am guessing it is a Holley if you are changing the squirter?
Sometimes if you go too large squirter you run out of volume and need to move up to a 50cc pump from the 30cc pump.
I had a carb that was to big for the motor it was on and it also had a bog (drag motor) and I was able to bump the time up to help it. It's still there but can live with it now. I should of put the smaller carb back on but I was lazy and both got the same ET so why change it.
