I made it out to Matt's house (quest4reds) and surpervised a little with his fuel line, and we adjusted the carb a little, and got to hear the truck run, and test drive.
Matt, it was nice to finally meet you, your neighbor across the street, and drink some of your cold ones.
Here's a couple of short videos.
Good times! Thanks much for Bob (ubereal2) coming down today, helping adjusting the carb so she fires right up now!!! I did get the new fuel line in and hooked up so I'm actually running the truck on fuel from the tank! Got to take the ol girl for a spin around the block and it felt good. Still have some things to do before I feel comfortable taking her too far from home, but definitely made some good progress today!
Great meeting ubereal2 today, he drove over an hour to help me with my truck! Can't begin to thank him enough. Bob is without a doubt, good people. Thank you Bob!!!!!!!!

That a way, Bob...
And he's the hardest one out of the whole bunch to get along with...LOL..........
You'll see in Oct. The rest of us are kittycats.........
This will be my work starting this afternoon hoping to finish by tomorrow night. Will be ripping the primary cover off and putting a new clutch spring in to replace the stock one. Going back with this HD Barnett spring made for a Meanstreak.
Looking forward to the NCFTE fall fling, I have some things I would like to tackle on the truck before I trust it enough to bring it out for the trip. I'm in the middle of replacing all the suspension bushings, finished rear spring bushings on the drivers side yesterday, still have to do passenger side, both axle pivot bushings, radius arm bushings, and a couple tie rod boots. Will need new tires, registration, plates and insurance (I have the title now) of course. Brakes are good to go.
Questions:
1. My floor pans need replaced, I have new ones already but existing aren't 'terrible' just a couple holes. Could I deal with it, or get them welded in ASAP?
2. Exhaust leak out of intake manifold (ubereal2 can probably explain this better than me), right where coil mounts (so the coil is not mounted to anything at the moment), the bolt is broken off in the hole but there is definitely flow out. Maybe try to get some kind of plug in there?
3. Minor power steering pump leak. I purchased a seal kit, but haven't done anything yet, power steering still seems to work fine. Leave it and just bring some PS fluid?
4. Door locks don't work at all, but the glove box locks. Thinking just don't keep any valuables in there.
I'll have to double check all the lights, signals etc, but I think they work well enough for now to get there without serving any jail time. This truck has only driven a few hundred yards up my neighborhood road and back to my house, no road miles since I have owned it, nothing over 30 mph. What would you guys do?
The floorboards wouldn't bother me alsong as it wasn't supposed to rain.
So you've got exhuast leaking out of your intake?? Or did I read that wrong?
I guess power steering would probably depend just how bad it is leaking. If I'd have to but a quart plus in it to make the drive I wouldn't. And I'd probably just replace the pump verse putting a seal kit in it.
I would want to definitely get more miles on it at highway speeds of at minimum 55-60 for a sustained amount of time atleast 30 minutes to make sure nothing screwy was going to happen before I set off for a couple hour drive.

Something that feels like exhaust is coming from the hole where the coil mounts to the intake manifold. If you put your finger on there, hot air will push it out of the way.
PS leak is minor as far as I can tell. Neighbor said the same about replace instead of repair the pump.
And I agree about putting some miles on her prior to making the trip. Bringing her up kind of feels like it won't happen, but I'm going to give it my best to make it happen, as long as it's safe.

That exhaust is coming from that broken bolt that runs through the intake manifold, and into the head. That also an exhaust port, that's why exhaust is coming out of that hole.
If the power steering leak is from that return line, I'd put a new hose, and clamps on it. If it's the pump, than I'd sure replace that complete power steering pump assembly. You will have to have a puller to remove that pulley off of the pump. And you'll also need to press the pulley back on too.
Time to get out the door. Physical Therapy this morning.
I'm not familiar with the 302 design but I'd be more worried that it has a crack in the exhuast port that runs to that bolt hole.
I'd probably try to remove the broken bolt and then put a little bit of thread tape on the bolt threads then towards the top of the bolt put a little permatex/silicone and bolt it back down.
