Well, it has been about two weeks since the new Ford kit was installed. The Navi stops just fine - no squeals or squeaks- and NO DUST!
My dealer ate part of the cost and I ate part of it. I thought that was more than fair since I had over 35 k miles on my 2003 Navigator.
Got an interesting call today...My dealer called to advise me that the pad kit is now available, however on backorder and should arrive next week.
The kit $115 is for all 4 wheels. The dealer will do it at no charge. They have stated that it is not covered under warranty and they are doing it as a customer accomodation.
The dilemna I have is that I installed aftermarket pads 3 weeks ago in the front only and have virtually no dust at all. The rears have the original pads.
I asked the dealer for advice and he advised to keep Ford installed parts on the vehicle and to have it done since they are picking up the tab..
Is this a no brainer and have Ford put new pads on??
With all the dealers saying they will do it for free, it almost sounds fishy.
Ford may of authorized the dealers to do it, only if the customer really really complains. Just like the secret warranties(rusty seat frames, front axle)

I just had the new pads installed today on my '03 4X4 Eddie B. $350. $117 for pads, $100 per aixle for installation and to turn the rotors. I will post a note in a week or so about how much dust I get.
