Nope I just got the axle shaft out today and found out that the bearings were really loose. The whole thing had a bit more play that's the driver side. So I'm gonna take it to the shop that did my axle studs on the other side and have them press the bearings in and do the studs on that axle. My studs are a little bent on this side.
I don't really know. On Friday I felt a weird rocking like the wheel was oblonged or something. I was on the freeway so I pulled over and my drum had smoke coming from it. Someone followed me a few miles to the exit for the Supermall so that if my axle seized or my wheel fell off, he could help.
Anyways I limped it home and all my brake fluid for the rear brakes was gone. We thought it was the wheel cylinder so we took it apart it didn't find a leak. We noticed I had a lot of play on the axle so we took it out since the brakes were apart. And the whole bearing assembly was pretty loose.
Yep lol, looks like tomorrow I can get a 50 cent off fuel discount per gallon at Fred Meyer, we got a 50 cent off per gallon discount today as well and got 6.6 gallons for $20 lol, we got gas for like $3.04 a gallon or something like that, now if it was only $1.04
Today I got gas for $2.92 a gallon with a 50 cent per gallon discount, $25 got me 8.5 gallons. It went from between E and 1/4 to 3/4, seems pretty accurate. But I noticed my fuel tank sending unit seal has a slight leak. I have replacement gasket seals and lock rings already, should I high tack the new seal on the tank and then use some high tack on the sealing surface for the sending unit sealing face? I don't want this thing leaking again. No, stupid on my part but I never replaced the original seal. I have two new replacements.
Well today I changed the fuel tank sending unit seal, only took half an hour. That sending unit is really accurate as well, it's reading 3/4 tank and it's really full. The fuel was only about 2 inches below the top of the tank. But that's a rough guess, it was near full.
I need to find the Unique senders/pickups for my truck.
'87, with a mechanical pump.
My senders are so bad I just go by mileage.
I ran out the other day... which was odd.
But then when I went to fill it, I could only get 13 gallons in.
The pickup must have rotted or fallen off and there is 6 gallons I can't get to.
That's odd, I bought an sending unit from LMC since it was the only place I could find that sells them for these damn 85-86 mechanical fuel pump, carbed trucks. The first one was about as accurate as a dart on a dart board. This one (which I got for free by the way from LMC) is super accurate.

Jim, I can ask my son if they have anything, you are correct, 87 with mechanical or hot fuel handling are orphans. EFI models carry through to 88 at least, the tanks I think for EFI are the same from 1990-96/7.
