Yeah. I don't know the last time you drove past my house but there is a new addition to my pile of projects. A 71 Super beetle. It's got a lot of issues so I have to keep the truck going till I can get this little bug driving safely. Then I can park the bronco and really crack down on getting stuff done.

Last time I drove by your house you had the bronco backed in with both the axles out I think.

It was most likely only one. And that would have been after the tire fell off, I haven't had both axles out yet. Only one at a time. The Beetle I got is parked in front of the bronco now, down by the side of the house.
He is correct, it is a dual port 1600cc. But the Haynes manual I have rates them at 60 hp the way I described it when I did a test drive, a lawnmower with a clutch. Being that the engine is in terrible shape, it needed about half throttle and a slow clutch release or it would have died. If it died then that's the end of the test drive, it was too difficult to start the first time.
The motors are super tiny but what it lacks in power, it makes up for in simplicity. No water cooling means I have only 3 major fluids to worry about, brakes, trans, and oil. I don't have to be concerned with the damage from the coolant or the mess it causes.
I've gone over all the starting stuff besides the plugs. I have a spark tester that is just a spark plug stuck inside a piece of rubber hose so you can see the spark. It had such a strong spark that my step dad got shocked while holding the rubber part of the hose that was farthest away from the plug. I'd say the ignition is good for the most part. We are thinking it has no compression but haven't checked yet.
