An MEL engine? what was it in?

I filled the tank up completely full today, I'll run it to 1/4 tank and fill it back up to get some gas mileage numbers. But I drove the truck today and did a mowing job, truck sat for over an hour. I let the choke warm up for maybe 15 seconds before starting it while I was doing stuff in the truck, fired right up. Then I got something to eat and shut the truck off, 5 minutes later. Twitch the key and it's running, same at the gas station. This carb just runs great, I can already see that the fuel gauge drops less than usual going the same places than with the Edelbrock carb. Runs great and super smooth.

I had it in a 1958 Country Squire. Mine wouldn't idle that slow, it was a former NASCAR engine, About a .600 lift cam with a lot of duration, 650 was the lowest it was happy with.

Does this Holley replacement have annular boosters like the 4180?

Similar, but they have an angled deck, a lot of FE stuff fits. Mine was an EDJ engine, EDJ being the first part of the PN. Ford was changing their PN system from a series based for engine parts to a brief foray into a pure numeric and then to the alpha-numeric. It was a big heavy, torque monster. 375hp and 490 ft-lbs of torque. I think the numbers were 375hp @ 4800 rpm and 490 ft-lbs @ 3100 rpm. The EDJ engines had a forged steel crank. Bore and stroke 4.3 X 3.7

No kidding, night and day difference. Almost smells like there's a catalytic converter on the truck now.

Better than my bug. It leaks fuel out of the sending unit cause someone didn't change it properly. So that fills the car, then the giant rust hole allows exhaust to get in when it's idleing... But, just like the bronco, I love the smells.

Dang I don't smell anything except once and a while a tiny hint of exhaust smell sitting there idling, other than that nothing.
