mostly, for me, I limit myself to one TV show per day, and hopefully its not a 1 hour one. I try to knock that out while surfing the internet just before bed. I keep moving when I can, I would say that the biggest weight loss for me happened when I was running on the treadmill early in the morning before work, but I haven't done that for just about a week. I also changed my diet, but not necessarily a great one, but a limited one. I still have fast food all the time, but now I choose water instead of pop, (when I have the strength) I don't order as many hamburgers at a restaraunt as I used to, and I have limited the number cheeseburgers that I eat at lunch.
Like I said, not great, but still the lbs are still going away. I have been keeping really active in the evenings whenever possible. Never sitting down has the biggest effect, always looking for projects to get knocked out.
Tanks for the ideas Curt and Dave, you have some good ones! I did good for my first day with no pop and no food outside of mealtimes. Once I ignored my old urges for a snack I find that I wasn't even hungry after all and I was just looking for something to pass the time. Keeping busy around the house should help battle those old routines
For my caffiene fix I try to stick with coffee or ice tea. Even if you put a teaspoon of sugar in it that is way less sugar than the 9-14 in a can of pop.
My problem with snacks is my control, if I eat one cheese stick I'll move into 2 and then I start slipping into into chips/candy again and it's all over. I just have to be strict with myself or I let loose too easy.
I'm a big fan of coffee with a splash of creamer, cup in the morning and sometimes 1 in the afternoon if things are going slow at my desk. Also trying to force a breakfast in the morning (banana) to get a more regular eating schedule in. I'll weight in tonight and join the group of weight losers

Also, when you get those hunger pains (or what you think are), drink a quart of water and wait a half an hour. They should be gone by then, if not before.

I typically drink 4-5 32oz refilled bottles of water with a flavor packet mixed in. That's how I avoid most of my snacking is by filling my stomach with water. Not only do I get all my water for the day but I also have about 20 different flavors to choose from to keep it varied all day long
Awesome Dave! I fell off the wagon for a spell, I am holding at 194.
I could be too! We are thinking of doing the Mexican this Friday with our Granddaughter and her boyfriend. Now if I could just lose a little more before then.
I've been keeping up with the excercise routine. Been steadily increasing distance and speed on the Elliptical, averaging just under 4 miles in a 30 minute session. Now if I could just get my act together and stop eating all this junk food.
I been holding at 192 pretty steady for quite some time, but its not for a lack of exercise, its been a lack of diet that has held it there. Today we had a BBQ and potluck at the house, and I might have eaten too much, but then there were the leftovers, which, I might have endulged a little too much as well.
However after that, I went on a 5 mile bike ride with my wife (uphill almost the whole way at least that's what I felt like), this evening. I was following her, and honestly, I can't imagine why a person would hate or be as mad at, themselves enough to punish themselves as much as she punishes herself on her bike. I mean what did she do that was so bad to make her want to put her, (and me) in that much pain?
