Unbelievable
Sir;
I am planning the purchase of a new 1 ton class pickup in the coming year, I would like that to be a Ford product however what I have been seeing as far as warranty denials in the last several months from Ford Motor Company on the new 6.7, the 6.4 and in some cases the 6.0 diesel engines has me very troubled. I personally know of 3 cases where warranty was denied when the failure was in no way due to the owners actions or failure to maintain the engine. I want to have confidence in the company behind my purchase but I find it troubling that a company like Ford would screw a customer who had spent $50 to $60K on a new vehicle. How can I trust a company who would deny warranty coverage on their engine failure? This is becoming far to common and the word is spreading very quickly on the internet.
Your reputation as a quality truck builder is beginning to decline and you need to take notice. I know of many folks who are planning to purchase GM or Ram products because of this. I find myself in that group even though I own a 2007 F250 with the 6.0 engine at this time. I love the power, look and rugged construction of Ford trucks, but, if I can't trust the company behind that truck to do the right thing when there is a problem, well, then I cannot justify giving them my hard earned money.
You had serious problems with the 6.0 and HPFP issues with the 6.4. Now it seems there are some issues in the new 6.7 with the Bosch HPFP in the pickups and valve failures especially in the Cab and Chassis models. This is your last chance to get it right in the light truck Diesel engine arena, you had better step up and stand behind your work. For me it's not about having a failure, it is being able to trust that if there is a failure that Ford will take care of the issue, lately that is in serious doubt.
Does Ford Motor Company think they are so big that they can "absorb" a little discontent? One motivated unhappy customer with a lot of time on his hands and an agenda can do you a LOT of damage. I 'm on the side lines at this time but I will consider the company behind the product and how they stand behind their trucks when it comes time for me to make my purchase.
end of email
Don't know if that will help but perhaps if they get bombarded with messages such as this they may take notice.
Steve
, I was thinking how much I enjoyed driving this truck, then reality set in, and I started to wonder, how fast am I going, how much does this trailer weigh(MC trailer). I hate that I have to think that now. Anyway, Today I got a call from Rogers, saying my truck was ready, and I could pick it up today, BUT they didn't have all my parts together, but they'd box them up and I could come get them monday???? I will be home tomorrow, but after reading ya'll GREAT ideas, I will wait til monday, when supposidly they will have my parts?? Anyway, Monday will mark exactly 8 weeks, that's right two full months. Also, The $ amount needs to be cleared up. They told me my PARTS bill was over 17k, not the total. I'm scared to see what the labor is after 2 months!! I'll see what happens and of course keep ya'll informed. Thank ya'll for going the extra mile, it's very impressive and says a lot about You all. Randy

This is the link to a thread that has a lot of Ford owners in uproar and they are appalled at the denial of warranty of this persons truck. He is the owner of 6 FORD TRUCKS and uses them for his business. The mere fact that there are dealerships that are not working for their customers is shocking...not to mention Ford's blatant disregard for their customers. This thread alone has caused many prospective buyers from purchasing a new Ford truck and it will continue to do so until Ford steps in and rights the wrongs done to this customer. This owner has been told he will have to pay for the engine replacement to the tune of $20,000 which is absurd! A truck at a price of $60,000 with only 32,000 miles on it should still be covered under warranty. Who is looking out for the customer's interests anymore?? Has Ford really succumbed to sticking it to the very people that keep them out of bankruptcy??
I implore anyone with the power to intervene and right this wrong to this customer. The very fabric of Ford's reputation is built with it's loyal customers. Your customers are the ones that pay all of your salaries and keep your businesses open. I am not the first person outraged by this callous treatment and I will not be the last.
Do what is right and stand by your warranties, penalize those dealerships that ruin your reputation and drive your customers away in more ways than you could imagine. I am not involved with this person what-so-ever, however as a prospective buyer it speaks volumes to me and as it does many other people.
Please forward this message to those in Ford corporate offices that still want to keep America strong and really care about their customers and keeping the Ford name and reputation as great as it has been.
Sincerely,
Robert Do-----(left my last name out of this post)
Prospective Buyer and hard working American
We all are pulling for you and hope this will turn out well, including me. I have to admit at the beginning I was thinking troll, but have changed my mind (sorry).
In the mean time, seems like you have a cool business and bunch of cool toys.
Got any pics of same while we are waiting (hoping) for a good outcome?

This is my second email about these problems. The first was a failure of the Bosch High Pressure fuel pump in the same engine and now this failure. I'm not going to diagnose this engine problem in an email to Ford, but I will tell you that water intrusion via hydrolock is not the cause of this failure. That cylinder was hot...more than likely to extra fuel.
I do not understand why Ford does not have more oversight over their dealerships. I realize they are independently owned, but this gentleman is out $20,000 dollars on a $60,000 truck. He is out this money because of a manufacturer's issue and is being stuck with the bill because we as owners have no recourse when it comes to enforcing the warranty we paid for when we bought these vehicles.
You can bet I own a 2011 F-350. I used to own a 2010 F-250. I've spent a lot of money buying your vehicles, but not nearly as much as the people who come into our forum and ask us questions about your truck. You should consider fixing this issue immediately. These denial of warranty repairs over questionable decisions by dealership technicians is hurting your image.
Consider the power of the internet and some angry owners. It doesn't take much to destroy a product. If you want proof, take a look at your own 2003-2007 F Series 6.0 diesel issues.
Address this problem immediately.
Respectfully,

2011 F-350 Owner.
That is my answer and I believe it is true. The Ford is the better package....but no sense in getting into the details about the lackluster warranty protection and the need for special insurance to cover bad fuel.
Happens with recent oil changes.
Best thing to do is begin a new topic if you have further details or search for the ticking noise; it's been well discussed.
Best to leave Randito's topic for his current issues.
Too many different issues in one topic and I get lost!
