You think your shipping is crazy I am selling parts to a guy in Israel.
He wants a dash among a lot of other parts. The dash will cost 993 dollars to ship. A post office flat rate box about 12x12x10 cost 58 dollars to go over there. Some of those over seas guy really have to want to restore a car BAD to pay those kinda shipping prices
RC, some people are just like that sometimes. I bet the parts sit until Friday in his shop before he puts them on, too.
Gonna meet Rich here in a few to get that manifold. I'm trying to hydrate myself. Too much soda and not enough water. I feel pretty rough. Don't fool yourself, it's even easier to get dehydrated in the winter time.
YEA larry i send alot of parts overseas..those guys over there are really into old american iron..i guess they have more money than us.. some of the prices are hard to see.. i sent a roof for a 49 chevy to germany awhile back.. cost more than i have in my truck..ha ha ha ha....... ..alan..this guy was serious i got up this morning and still no payment in my paypal..so i called him..he freaked out saying the parts had to be there monday morning...said he made the payment last night..somehow it didnt come thru..so i drove to mountain home and on the way he called and got it straightened out... he has a big car show it has to be at by wed.

Some of the over seas guys spend money like water. I sold a guy in Sweden a 59 merc convertible and a parts car. He sent a shipping company to pick them up and took them to Houston and loaded on a container and away they went. Neither car was very good and he knew it.
Shipping to Israel is a entirely different deal. Their customs will not let them import electronics so can't send even a old car radio or a heater motor. Have to be very careful what I send and how it is labled on the customs sheet.
Will not do from that country again.
I back from my adventures. The guy swung by and picked up a fender I had from the parts truck. I also went over and checked out my niece's car to make sure it was ok to drive. (it was) I have to go pick up another truck tomorrow to scrap out for my brother in law. I have to put this exhaust manifold on that Rich gave. (You can have the 429 manifold back if you want, Bob.) ....and Lee dropped off a care package full of parts for me to put on his truck. Tomorrow looks like another full day. I want to have most of that done tomorrow so I can get that engine job over here on Monday.
The wife and I decided that the time has come to refinance the house for a lower rate. We've got a conditional approval with a much nicer rate as long as the appraisal comes up good. When they said that - it dawned on me that I need to get that bathroom moving again. So - despite the shoulder not working all that well - the drywall joints have had a first coat of joint compound and are drying. Maybe tomorrow I can get some initial sanding done in hopes of getting everything painted soon.
